Whenever I see story like this I can't help but think of that slimey fucking rat face who appropriated "Medicare 4 All" and kept rambling about "choice." :pete:

I think back to this democratic canvasser in the 2020 general. I said "Biden doesn't think I deserve healthcare. Why would I support him?" and they said "Biden wants you to have affordable healthcare". When I pointed out that "affordable" means nothing during an economic crash caused by the failures of Biden's previous administration to deal with the last economic crash, their response was that Trump has done nothing for healthcare during his entire term. They attacked me for pointing out that this meant the wholly inadequate system we have is Obama's, because if I can say that then they can go back and point to the previous president.

Liberals will say you deserve healthcare* during a pandemic. Fucking monsters.

That doesn’t seem to be the best strategy on their part but it sounds like a scene of Lib meltdown to behold :sicko-crowd:

The most condescending "Thank you for sharing your opinions with me!" over the prospect of millions of people dying needlessly. I need to ask r/legaladvice about the maximum limit of hate I can legally transmit over text. I don't want them driving over a bridge without thinking about it and considering their options.

I always found the choice and access narrative so funny. I live in a single payer system and I've never been told a hospital or a clinic is out of network. I've never been told a procedure or a test is unavailable to me. Maybe I've had some longer than desired wait times for non emergency procedures, but I've never been denied access.

"Everyone gets 100% coverage healthcare for free"

"Actually, I think some people might want choice"

Yeah this might be bad but have you considered that you have the option to choose which insurance provider can deny you healthcare for arbitrary reasons? THATS FREEDOM :amerikkka-clap:

Who knew the shadowy cabal deciding who lives and dies were just the capitalists all along

Of course, it's not like the insurance company wasn't allowing this woman to have a CT scan, they were just refusing to pay for it. Which makes them pieces of shit, but it was the for-profit hospital that demanded payment for a procedure which costs them a relative pittance to perform, and refused service after they didn't get their money.

I'm not blaming this guy at all, just pointing out the absurdity of the fact that the woman was probably in the same building as the CT scanner, and this guy is pleading with some claims department because he, as a doctor, is not allowed to just wheel her into the room and turn the machine on.

Yes, but have you considered that privatized death panels are much more efficient than government-run death panels?

I never liked "death panels" it implies that insurance companies give a shit whether you live or die. They're basically just soulless repositories of outdated (but profitable) medical policies and their job is to hire enough "doctors" that they don't lose so many lawsuits to make the whole grift lose money

Insurance companies are essentially liability vehicles so that wealthy people can gamble on the health of folks without the really sick ones messing up the action
