You're correct insofar as not understanding a joke means it's not funny at all, and having it explained does indeed make it funnier than not funny at all

I always thought corncobbing was when someone is trying (and failing) to post through it. Would Bean Dad have become the main character of the day if he hadn't doubled down and replied to everyone?
