If you think his red shirt is nasty, you can march right up to him and quit

AND THEN WHAT, MR. CAPITALIST STAN.

Like fuck, do they think the boss would be like "Oh shucks you're right buddy lemme just change to a neutral grey shirt"? They'd just hire the next desperate person and this guy'd be up shit creek with no job.

Damn, whoever wrote this has never been hungry but couldn't afford to eat or not been sure how they're going to pay rent next month.

All these "here is why capitalism is actually a moral and fair system" thought experiments needs to have the underlying presumption that everyone participating are financially independent gentlemen who doesn't really need the money in the first place in order to work

OP is the sole mod of the comm and just joined lemmy today. The comm itself appears to be brand new (both of the exactly 2 posts are from same OP and posted in the last 2 hours). Can random users create comms on lemmy like on r*ddit? If so that's really stupid.

      Yes.

Maybe, but I'd really like to see more Lemmy instances dedicated to specific topics, like how there is with Mastodon.

I mean sure, a variety of interesting comms on specific topics sounds great to me too, but allowing randos to create any comm they want is exactly how r*ddit ended up with so many toxic subreddits. It just seems really unwise to me.

They're right. This is a perfectly functional, if somewhat harrowing, way for a society to operate unless you are one of the people in excess to the requirements of employers, and if you are you have already been written off
