It was a specific sub-menu of their tax line unrelated to relief checks that will punt you to an operator if you tell the system to repeat its instructions two times - at which point you just tell them you need to talk to someone about your tax returns, which gets you connected to a real person in the correct place to ask about the status of your stimulus check. I don't have the list of prompts on hand now but I'll message you when I find it (might take a couple days though). Trial and error with the 'repeat instructions' command in various menus could work in the meantime though if you don't want to wait.

Same, denied due to an oversight regarding a niche situation w/ my tax documents which they refuse to fix even though its since been corrected. I do know how to trick the phone system into getting you in touch with a real person rather than recordings to ask for the status of your check though - but at this point its pretty unlikely that they're willing to do much to fix anything when they can just wave away the issue with the excuse of "well you can just check off the 'i never received my 1,200 check' box in this year's tax form".

It's too bad Neal Stephenson is a chud - its funny if you look at the progression of the books he's published because you can literally see the brain worms set in with every subsequent story. One of the more recent ones was ultimately about some tradwife libertarian family living on the canadian border stopping middle eastern terrorists from invading the country, and the hero of almost all of his books are enlightened business owners. I highly recommend looking up the synopsis of his latest soon-to-be-published novel for some laughs.
