And then the Democrats will blame people for not being grateful enough for breadcrumbs of a $600 check when they get their asses kicked in Georgia next month. It will be all our fault for just not being grateful enough to get something and how "it's better than nothing!" Meanwhile, you'll start to hear people reminisce over Trump cause at least they got a $1,200 check from him.

It's basically a month's pay for a minimum wage worker.

If you call it 7.25 times 40 hours times 4 weeks you end up with 1160. The kind of traditional full time worker does 2000 hours a year, you divide that by 12 and end up with 1208.

Same, denied due to an oversight regarding a niche situation w/ my tax documents which they refuse to fix even though its since been corrected. All they offer to do is to maybe give me a 1,200 tax credit for this year's tax return instead. I'll honestly be surprised if I get this upcoming $600, especially if they're still using the same system to determine who gets the checks.

I do know how to trick the phone system into getting you in touch with a real person rather than recordings to ask for the status of your check though - but at this point its pretty unlikely that they're willing to do much to fix anything when they can just wave away the issue with the excuse of "well you can just check off the 'i never received my 1,200 check' box in this year's tax form".

How did you even talk to someone at the irs? I didn’t get 1200 so I called them and the person was completely unhelpful. Could give me zero information.

It was a specific sub-menu of their tax line unrelated to relief checks that will punt you to an operator if you tell the system to repeat its instructions two times - at which point you just tell them you need to talk to someone about your tax returns, which gets you connected to a real person in the correct place to ask about the status of your stimulus check. I don't have the list of prompts on hand now but I'll message you when I find it (might take a couple days though). Trial and error with the 'repeat instructions' command in various menus could work in the meantime though if you don't want to wait.

Fuck man, I wish my American comrades could catch a break at least once. I feel like I should do something, start a Patreon for y'all struggling over there or something.

Would that even help? I don't even know how to set up something like that.

I think they actually added adult dependents to it unlike in the CARES Act. https://twitter.com/JStein_WaPo/status/1339567071588442113?s=20
