Yeah thats the problematic part. I sorta see what doe was saying though. At the end its like, "still waifus tho. Deal with it" really feels just one step away from realizing that gender and waifu are both constructs and saying "they are women. Deal with it"

This, if you look past the terminology he uses, he's arguing that gender is a social construct and for all social intents and purposes these characters fill the female gender role.

I thought OP was upset that their hardships and struggles as a Trans being exploited for money. I hadn't known that trap was a slur :( Makes sense as soon as someone explained it. Other than calling them female (like one shown on the presentation) or male for the other case, is there any other acceptable name?

Hi. You can use trans or transgender if refering to the concept. Otherwise just use man or woman based on the gender that person identifies as.

Some of us are intentionally gender queer and identify with multiple genders or even none. This is deliberate because either we don't feel like we fully belong to a single gender or reject the concept since it is a social construct based in opression.

If you're not sure about a person's pronouns, offer yours first. "Hi my name is gonxkilluaotp and my pronouns are he/him. Nice to meet you."

It takes guts to admit you don't know something. Thanks for wanting to learn.

I get it. If you’re cis, then you haven’t had to think about pronouns much if at all since they just assigned them to you at birth and happened to fit you enough you didn’t notice.

When you’re trans, you have to remove a false gender and shift into the one you really identify with. Some people have always known their true gender, some of us just know what we had didn’t work.

That’s why we give so much of a fuck about things like pronoun tags on a website. We live this shit every day.

Edit: trying to make my comment more general. Take this as just my experience.

If they naturally make a face, it's not ahegao, it's an o face. Ahegao is a weird stylized manga thing, based on the o face, but as real to it as anime tiddies are to natural tiddies, and if anyone has a choice to make the face or not while having sex, it's obviously not a natural reaction.

I mean, if they're really getting into it and their mouth starts making word noises, it's not always bad. Them telling me what they want is a good thing.

Japan is a country in the world with people living in it. Manga and anime are considered niche media there much like comics and cartoons are in the states. Not all, actually not even most Japanese media is Pervy anime, they make plenty of normal boring ass movies and TV shows and book, and anime about boring ass shit. A lot of the really weird and gross stuff you see put out is made with western audiences in mind. Many of the most popular mangas/animes in Japan are slice of life shit that would probably bore the piss out of most weebs.

I think a lot westerns like to scapegoat Japanese media simply because it’s more openly horny than western media, but really most of the fucked up shit you can find in anime is present in western media, just pruded up a bit.

Maybe “niche” isn’t the right word.

Manga just means “comic” in Japanese and there are indeed very popular ones that even like normal middle aged Japanese people read. There’s some really popular one that’s basically just Japanese The Simpsons. The fucking weird shit is mostly produced for a specific demographic that even a lot of Japanese people view as kinda odd, the same way we view “nerds” over here. But much like over here being a “nerd” isn’t really all that derogatory anymore and most normal people enjoy some “nerdy” shit, same with Marvel movies getting popular.

So a minority of Japanese artists make transvestite/transgressive/queer characters, a few poorly socialized cringey dudes cling to those, and the whole of Japan is cancelled?

This isn't the decadence of Japanese society, it's just the decadence of global corporatized culture catering to every whim out there, including those bordering on mental illness. Japan is just less hung up on heteronormativity, which makes it look especially weird to a Western audience, but it's no more an example of social decay than Marvel movies, where the characters fit within "normal" but are sexless robots.

Is there a more up-to-date term for cisgender crossdressers? I'm sorry for being old, I have zero intent to offend - I grew up with the term having no negative connotations.

I was trying to say that the presenter in OP's image/certain weebs may have a borderline mental illness for obsessing over these anime concepts.

Maybe I'm missing the context by a wide mile, but I really don't get where this animus is coming from. Isn't this post about the guy being cringey/weeby/extremely online? Or is this about blaming Japan for coming up with the very idea of "trap waifus" (which I'm not sure that they did)?

The point is that capitalism consumes everything, partly creating the 'decadence' that rightists whine about (while the other half they whine about is just social progress). This happens in every nation, even the ones they lionize.

This is actually an interesting point that I've read about in the context of academic debate on transracialism.

I will quote from one of the critiques that Hypatia has published on their notoriously bad first article on transracialism:
[In 1907, a seventeen-year-old Scotch-Irish girl named Mae Munro Watkins met nineteen-year-old Tiam Hock Franking of Amoy, China, while attending high school in Ann Arbor, Michigan.]

In Watkins’s particular case, “racial transgression” was very much a zero-sum game, whereby conforming with the demands placed upon her as the wife of a Chinese husband required giving up the privileges that she enjoyed as a white US citizen.
For her, “becoming Chinese” was conditional upon her migration to China as an “Asiatic traveler,” and, concurrently, her renunciation of US citizenship privileges.
As a result, going back to “being white” was not an option available to her. In terms of Chinese gender roles (and to prove wrong her Chinese-in-laws’ prejudices), Watkins had to compensate for her whiteness by diligently—and perhaps excessively—performing the role of the dutiful Chinese wife: taking care of her mother-in-law and the household; raising her children as Chinese; observing the customs of Chinese ancestor worship; and wearing Chinese dress.

Therefore, we can say that Watkins’s access to “Chineseness” was made possiblevia the performance of a particular gender role within a heteronormative and repronormative matrix: that of the patriotic, dutiful, and family-oriented Chinese wife and mother.
In other words, her “Chineseness” is the racialized expression of her sub-ordinate status as the marital dependent and primary caregiver.
Although Watkins’s whiteness enabled her to make sense of her “Chineseness” as part of an antifeminist—and here the audience is “Western” feminism—performance of subordinate femininity, her status as the subordinate wife also shaped the conditions in which this“Chineseness” could become intelligible to herself and her Chinese family.
Indeed, her subordinate status as the marital dependent carved out for her a path of “racial transgression” toward “becoming Chinese” that followed, from the gendered and heteronormative norm that a wife’s racial identity had to match that of her husband and her children.

(context clearer if you read from page 15, but is somewhat verbose; note current url sci-hub.se)

Taking this analogy problematically back to being transgender, in the context of "traditionalist" weebsociety, her anime "gender transgression" is only acceptable through the cisheteropatriarchal lens of being waifu'd.
