I dunno what you're supposed to do if there's an attack on a cop when you receive a Blue Alert, join in? I can't conceive of what purpose this program has.
I'll never forget how Arizona Sheriffs dress like marines in Fallujah. A lot of them probably were marines in Fallujah. It's fucking insane.
You're supposed to be very afraid. You're also supposed to be too dumb to question why there's a public alert system with no purpose other than making you afraid.
I want an app whose UI is a big button that you press when you see a cop while you're walking around or driving. (Perhaps a swipe or verbal confirmation for the direction they're driving, but you never need to take your eyes off the road). That way other people can be alerted about an upcoming interaction with a cop. Maybe some customizable threshold of incidence (only warn me if 3 people spot the same guy) so you can avoid trolls trying to muck it up.
You'd like Waze, babee! I don't know if they're still keeping the report-a-cop option but it was pretty cool when it did!
Google Maps even has this now. They integrated it into it when Google bought Waze.
