Watching cis people try and talk about trans people can be amusing

there's a queer person who I see walking their dog, they seem happy and I've never seen anyone give them a hard time

there's a trans woman who works at the local liquor store, she seems nice and I've never seen anyone be rude to her

Thank you those were both great stories, you have successfully related to me and alleviated my concerns.

I know they tried/meant well it just was funny

It's very similar to people of colour, yeah most of the time racists aren't openly racist when other white people are around that are normal. It's when it's just you and a racist, that's when the wild shit comes out. And also, it's underappreciated by the hegemonic culture - but racism, homophobia, transphobia can be just so fantastically weird, yeah it can be scary and rude and deadly. But sometimes, you hear the weirdest out of pocket shit and then think back on it the way home and realize "wait they were being transphobic, the fuck???"

Also the amount of people lacking in self awareness to just come out with some random vitriolic comment.

Or you get people who are usually normal then just casually drop some racist etc comment without any self reflection whatsoever

I don't have any friends but if someone did this I'd just not associate with them

shoulder-grab "My comrade in chains, how often do you see these people, do you actually have any idea how difficult their lives might be?"

We must treat the cis with kidgloves 'cause they're dweebs lea-smug

Yeah it's like most interactions are fine and what not but like bad things do happen and people, when anonymous, are very judgy about us so it just messes with me. Cis people don't really get this at all because they don't suffer the same kind of discrimination as we do, well some queer people kinda do

The judginess messes with me too, especially since I live with some people who don't understand.
