Chat, my wife tells me that my voice sounds good. She is obviously a liar, how can I get her to stop?

I also have not been misgendered in like two years now despite my voice NOT sounding good. This is clearly a lie, how can I get reality & random people outside to stop?

    actual non-goofy post

I goofed a little with voice training and I can sing along okay to some cool albums (Eye to the Telescope, Dreamboat Annie) even though it shreds my throat if I go too long. I found what I think is an autism problem, which is that I have really poor control over my larynx and stuff. I think it's inconsistent Idk.

Doxxing I know but emilie->=3 I should post a vocaroo where I read the first chapter of Nevada lmao

      spoiler

Your voice is fairly androgynous and tbh is a touch higher than it used to be plus when you mask it also sounds a little tweaked.

It's no worse than my own, most people can't make me out with my androgynous soft Irish accent

Voices can just naturally shift like that sometimes, it's a thing. But also if you're working on your voice even a little obviously it'll change you silly dork.

You know how wood expands during certain seasons? Human bodies do shit like that too, and that can impact your voice. I think. Probably.

Also the muscles get used to making higher sounds so they start relaxing a bit higher to make them more easily.

I did voice training a few years ago now, but only recently started working on singing. it's good that you're making progress on singing! feels like that takes forever

I kinda found singing the easiest because it gives you a direct target =) plus I like singing in the shower anyway, lol

yess I sing in the shower too haha. I think I just had a mental barrier with singing for a bit, since talking came easy to me with voice training, but singing didn't

it's not an autism problem, everyone struggles with that for a couple of years. changing your default larynx position takes awhile.

Before coming out even to myself, I used to go on long walks and sing along to female vocalists in a femme sounding voice, and I continue to sing along to them now because it makes me feel so good, even if going on walks has become considerably harder. Thing is, when I try to use that same voice for speaking, I just instantly feel like I'm putting it on and cringe myself out :c

yea I have a specialty more-femme voice that somehow became part of my masking routine... hate to see it...

Omg now that you say it, I have something like that as well. It's nowhere near as high as my singing voice and probably sounds a bit androgynous at best, but I do be trying

Uh pretty sure music is vibes.

The numbering system is based on scale tones. The easiest way I can explain is if you have access to a keyboard, the white keys are the C major scale. So the 3rd and 5th notes are E and G. C,E,G is a major chord.
