I used to be a Swing Dance Gal, and one time I made the mistake of telling this to an old man at a party who turned out to be a Jazz Guy, and he started talking about music and different artists and how "every note is a story" and it was really overwhelming so I was just like, "I enjoy the dancing sir."
Jazz was cooler before it became an old white person thing, it used to be rebellious and transgressive at some point. Weird to think it's the exclusive domain of the white silver haired crowd
