I know academia is rife with bullshit, but one has to laugh at a professor worried that the Texas Legislature will kill Critical Race Theory classes, and when somebody asks, "hey can I audit the course due to personal reasons?" he says "no, I only teach registered (read paid) students".

Paywalling the critical knowledge needed to engage with and against white supremacy and racism is like, a fucking death sentence to the theory and praxis.

    :shrug-outta-hecks:

Meanwhile, my dumb ass is actively holding Book Clubs in theory for free, and I "built" a course on Capital Vol. 1 for the old /r/cth sub.

he didn't blame dept. guidelines. so i don't know.

This is just part of the larger point that academia studies, synthesizes and expounds on theoretical concepts but they are paywalled in ridiculous ways; meanwhile Breitbart is free.

Saw people talking about the Little Caesars post getting locked and I assume there'd be some giant struggle session about oh I don't know like marinara sauce or some s*** but I went there and it's just people talking about cheap pizza. I'm just going to assume there's a mod out there who really doesn't like Little Caesars.

I used to know a ceo bro guy who was pretty successful. He thought he was a fucking genius bc of his success at running his business but he was honestly, one of the most dim brained joe Rogan fan type dudes I ever met. So fucking stupid, he just was willing to be a huge exploitative asshole and it worked out for him

My dear mom was skeptical of the covid vaccine. Instead of discussing vaccines, safety etc, I busted out ol reliable: I explained it was important to me and asked her nicely and politely if she would get it and she did.

I just find it deeply troubling how a significant amount of people find property damage more harmful than a group of people gathering in the street and chanting hitler salutes

Decided to tell my parents I was doing therapy and they’re super supportive. Kinda made me wish I’d been open about it sooner but I’m glad I got it off my chest.
