I clicked on this guy's video about Netflix's One Piece adaptation a few weeks back since it wasn't outwardly reactionary judging from the title and bounced off hard when he got creepy talking about Nami's actress' boobs not being big enough to be manga accurate

He said it was okay because she was still sexy in the role unlike that WOKE HARRIDAN who played Faye Valentine in the Netflix Cowboy Bebop show

Just wild hearing shit like that from a guy who looks like a respectable TV host or professor or something

Damn, can't believe she didn't even surgically remove her ribcage so she could more accurately represent the character's appearance smh my head.

All/most female anime characters should have like a DnD weakness to the enemy just snapping them in two, what with them having a waist you can fully grab with two hands.

Seriously, how do their organs find space in there?

Most of them, sure, but Eiichiro Oda's female characters are especially exaggerated (but so is everything else in One Piece)

This is super not the point and it would be gross even if he was right but like, Nami's character design in the manga and anime has changed a lot over the years, she's progressively gotten bigger boobs and a smaller waist over the thousands of chapters. For the part the netflix adaptation covered, she actually had pretty small boobs and a physique that probably wouldn't kill a real person

Yeah, she has a very ordinary and human build in the earlier chapters before Oda stylised the bejezus out of all the female characters

Not sure what he was talking about when he called her portrayal sexy when she's very much not mined for fan service in the Netflix show and her personality is more down to earth and serious. Guess he REALLY hated the actress on Cowboy Bebop whom he compared Netflix Nami to

Disney superheroes just suck. We have like, 3 dudes in suits in America that decide all movies that are made. It's so bland and the same, artless, profit-driven drivel that they've been making for so long now. It's honestly a surprise when I see a new, good movie.

Sorry, I just love movies, and I like complaining lol.

All the "anti-woke" screeds against Marvels is gonna make me go watch the movie I swear to God.

The same happened with Captain Marvel, Eternals, She-Hulk, and Ms. Marvel (all pirated of course but I still gave it my time) - All of which are okay to good. Seriously, there is nothing with Captain Marvel the character, Brie Larson the actor, or Captain Marvel the movie. Same goes for Ms. Marvel the TV Show (the first two eps were pretty good), Iman Vellani the actor, and I'm guessing The Marvels movie. I do not want to see more superhero slop but goddamnit I hate these right-wing weirdos who make the contrarian in me side with fucking Disney.

Putting it in terms of a meme that the lib me from years past saw - Disney and other megacorps are Voldemort. Clearly the big bad evil. But the anti-sjw/anti-woke/anti-idpol crowd we see online are Umbridge (the lady in the pink suit).

Sure but that's every marvel movie. Like black panther, a movie about an uncolonized, prospering African nation being saved by actual CIA intervention

Captain Marvel is in the US military and that’s 90% of her character. At least iron man had a vaguely anti-authority attitude and recognized that war profiteering was wrong.

I mean, most of those movies suck (I've heard She-Hulk is okay), the issue is they suck just as much with male leads as female leads, but the women coming second are at a disadvantage because people are getting sick of the formula over time.

Paul Chato was never cool. I wonder what the other Frantics think of this development.

Rick Green tries, but he's ultimately a lib. I don't know about Dan Radican or Peter Wildman, but I want to believe they're good.

He was part of a Canadian comedy troupe called The Frantics. He's also the one who failed to build a career afterwards. The rest wound up on the Red Green Show.
