Welcome back. This part of the series will be primarily focusing on genres. So far I have [Action RPG, Arcade Game, Action, 4X (Civilization-like), Card Game, Text dungeon, Survival, Sandbox, Shoot/beat 'em up, Adventure, Turn Based Strategy, Real Time Tactics, Grand Strategy, Tower Defense, Miscellaneous, and Casual] as available genres. Let me know if I missed something, and I will try to get it added.
This is eventually all going to get compiled into one megathread for people who want gaming recommendations from Chapos specifically. Other consoles and genres will come in sporadic subsequent threads. Please contribute to previous threads if you missed them. This is meant to be an exhaustive list.
Expanding on your choice(s) is definitely a plus. Not everyone knows about or has played non-mainstream titles.
Red Faction Guerilla is very :CommiePOGGERS: because you literally start a proletariat revolution on Mars 100 years in the future. And you get to demolish the definetely not an allegory for the IDF
Control is the only recent 3rd person shooter Ive played but that game has become one of my favourites. Its like a loveletter to weird fiction and scp stories. Its the only game Ive actually 100% and spent time finding every document so I could read about all the different anomalies.
The one true best third person shooter is and always will be Vanquish, because it's the only one where the devs looked at all the otherTPS games and asked "how do we do this, but make it actually fun and engaging?" .
I guess you go into third person in Halo 3 when you rip a turret off its stand
Halo is so good somehow I'll allow this. I'd go with 1 and 2 however.
The Division 1&2 are pretty good gameplay wise. Gears of War was also good.
I have not played many, but the only one that sticks out in my mind as genuinely good is Gears of War.
I only really played the first one but it had a lot of good ideas for its time.
I'd also have to recommend the excellent RE4 ripoffs Dead Space 1 and 2
