I had the opposite and but still largely similar experience. When I was a teen, my first job was not bad but not great. Most of us did about as much as was required. Except there was this 45 year old dude who wasn't interested in the higher pay/responsibility roles. He just fucking LOVED the job we had. So we had to deal with this guy making us all look like shit because he was obsessed with the tedious work for its own sake.

Fuck, Imagine being 18 and studying for the SATs while this kid is studying for the assistant manager test right next to you.

      Real Two Wolves moment.

I listened to my dumbass parents and did this and all it did was make me loathe my boss and accelerate my radicalization. Absolute waste

Sounds like work builds character, just not the type they expected

I hate it when lib kids are so lazy they don't work literally every waking moment at a min wage job.

Kid's dumb tbh. He could find some ag related work, get paid a lot more, and become more of a real man, whatever the fuck that means.

      Kid’s dumb tbh.

Kid's fourteen. He's probably just excited to be outside of the house for once in his life without his father screaming "You're a fucking embarrassment" during his t-ball game.

He could find some ag related work, get paid a lot more, and become more of a real man, whatever the fuck that means.

Oh totally. BK is a sucker's job. His real mistake was not immediately going into construction.

Yeah should rephrase. That was meant more as a jab towards the parents. I don't think the kid is actually dumb, feel bad for him.

I've noticed a trend of high schoolers working more. When I was in high school, I only worked some summers. Obviously I didn't need to to support my family. But I've noticed kids much more well off than me working so goddamn much. But they seem to enjoy it so idk what to make of it.

Huge shout out to this kid of mine, 14 years old and has a PT job at NERV, not only does he work every day he can including weekends when most kids are out enjoying the love of their parents, he goes in early and stays late almost every time he pilots 01, he loves every minute of it. Making his own trauma, trying to earn praise, being held responsible for others’ decisions, becoming an emotionally stunted young man!!! I couldn’t be more proud of him! Some of y’all lazy, grown ass people out there should take notes!!! #prouddad

Since I had fun posting this before.

I commented on this last time it showed up, but I just noticed the shirt he has on doesn't seem to be even close to fitting; could be he just likes larger shirts, but it seems rather fittingly symbolic.

It's the new program where you grow into and die in your uniform. Saves 35 dollars a year annually.

They don't make shirts for fucking 14 year olds because no company is going to make "childrens medium" sized shirts, that's just a PR nightmare waiting to happen.

The kid looks like someone who is just glad to be outside the Punishment Closet for more than two hours a day.

The dad is the one that needs to be punted.
