You know why libs love this so much right? Its peak civility porn to them. This is what makes him better than the uncouth orange man who would just say what he means.

Maybe I'm too used to spaces like this which shun the liberal art of weaving needles into faint praise, because I simply cannot detect the shiv?

like, you can't even squint and read it as sarcastic, like the pelosi clap. this is just a normal statement to make, no?

the shiv is that he was not quite as civil as he could be, which tickles the part of the lib brain that gives them dopamine whenever they do something they feel is naughty but ultimately completely ineffective

it's all performance to make themselves feel smug, even if no one else gets it, cos it reaffirms them as part of the cool lib in-group

Good God these people are fucking idiots. I find it hard to believe that Biden had issues with Kissinger's foreign policy for any moral reasons. He probably was upset that Kissinger was being too soft on China.

It's moments like this that make me happy that my only social media experience is Hexbear and lurking on Lemmy dot ml.

The outside cyber world is horrifying sadness

That's insane. What the fuck do these people do when they have to make a statement, experience loss, or have a difficult conversation? Are they congratulating him for spelling the words right and avoiding emojis? Like what would they say after a cordial breakup? How do they explain that they no longer want to take piano lessons from someone?

"I was so excited to meet you, your contributions have made me a better person, I wish you(r family) success, bye"

Lol wtf there are just a bunch of people being like "so what's the dig" and basically begging for an example and people just absolutely refuse to answer

    Bizarre

the entire 'dig' is predicated on being 'in the know' - if you're not cool enough to understand how this is a dig, you're not allowed into the super special secret lib club

      it's entirely intentional smuglording

When I kneeled down to kiss Kissinger's ass it often smelled like poop. And often strongly.

Ok having read the thread on my alt I can safely say 2 things

    1. Bluesky's ui for comment threads is complete ass, but I already knew that

    and

    1. Liberals are not sentient, and I also already knew that one
