people out there still acting like america is alive and worth saving lmao
How long before someone advocates for giving cops the job of sorting and delivering mail
Gonna enjoy getting packages riddled with bullets because the ZIP code was formatted wrong and the officer felt threatened.
How can I make it clear to liberals that direct action is not only a better option than electoralism in general, but that it is increasingly the only viable option?
Like, I'm trying to formulate an argument that compares 8 years of Obama and his effect on police brutality and racism in America (fuck all? I'd actually like if somebody could point me to whatever he did do about it), vs the change from the Floyd riots (still not much, but there was the notable end of qualified immunity in Colorado, and "the discourse" around pigs shifted kinda for the better, at least more than it seemingly did under Obama).
And of course the fact that many of these recent highly publicized cases have occurred in places that already have democratic leadership.
The Floyd riots put Seattle on a path the defunding the police. We've already fired 100 officers, cut the chief's pay, and dismantled the anti-homeless squad. Meanwhile, the labor council voted to kick out the police council. It's not much, but it's a helluva lot more than decades of liberal mayors has done.
They're officially called the "Navigation Team". They just destroy homeless camps and "offer" homeless people somewhere to stay.
they're the pigs whose primary purpose is to harass the homeless, instead of it just being a perk of the job. kind of like the vice squad and raping sex workers.
Is the postal workers union doing anything about any of this if they can?
French Revolution had a pretty swell idea about a neat little wooden frame machine.
the great thing about this is it denies the condemned their own personal moment. every member of Texaco's board goes CHOP at once
Nah make it serrated like a saw so each neck gets a standard angle blade
Just run some detcord down the line to sever whatever holds the blade, make it a fuckin fireworks show
y'all aren't thinking about reuse. the design in the paper is good and a serrated blade might ensure we better retain sharpness through many uses. don't want to have to stop partway through to replace the blade, that would be inhumane. and not having a good track for each blade will result in a hell of a lot of mess and inefficiencies.
what are they gonna do, un-sledgehammer the machines?
voting every 2 years is a liberals form of activism so they can pat themselves in the back. That's why they post the "I voted" sticker online like it's something to be proud of.
Zombie Neoliberalism. Instead of brains it eats public institutions and the poor.
"Don't worry citizen! For a small fee of $1 per message, we can ensure your bills get priority to arrive to your house on time!" -- Soon to be privatized USPS
Further evidence that the Chinese are right: we don't have a real democracy in America. USPS is ridiculously popular and an overwhelming majority don't want to see it privatized and yet we're on the precipice of completely gutting it.
the Chinese? I'm pretty sure you can pull a random person off the street and ask them if we're really a democracy and they'll laugh and tell you no.
Fair enough, in my head I was thinking about that Qiao Collective article someone posted here recently.
OK but half of the time they're saying "No, we're not a democracy, we're a REPUBLIC" because they apparently don't know how to use a dictionary or encyclopedia.
The complete lack of resistance in the Democratic leadership is not surprising. I'm just curious how far Trump will go before cowardice kicks in
