No idea, this was in Florida in the late 00s I think the Red Cross was still pretending trans people didn't exist. Tbh I think the responsible thing to do with those questions is lie and save people's lives with your queer blood

It used to be no gay sex for 9 months (maybe 6? I dont remember) but they've reduced it to 3 months because it's completely arbitrary, and they perform tests either way. If you've been having lots of anonymous sex or have contracted AIDS, then don't donate, but I don't think sharing a night with your long time partner should prevent you from saving a life

One of my well-meaning but ditzy lib friends is still pretty sure that MLM are still more likely to contract AIDS. I feel like that's not correct but I don't know enough about medicine to dispute it.
