If you don't know, Matthew Warren Heimbach is an American white nationalist and neo-Nazi who tried to form alliances with other far-right groups. In 2018, Heimbach briefly served as community outreach director for the National Socialist Movement

I'm not a tankie, because while I do agree with everything the USSR ever did, I make an exception for the decision to send tanks into Hungary.

I’ve only started Heavensward recently but I hear only good things about the game’s development. A new content chapter (Endwalker) is going to drop soon too, along with two new classes (a dps and a healer).

Heavensward is a lot of fun. Anything is better than the 100 or so fetch quests immediately preceding it.

After completing the dreck right before HW, I put the game on hiatus because I was so burned out lol. And now I don’t even play the MSQ, I just level my jobs to 50

If you're done with 2.55 or whatever the ARR MSQ was called I highly recommend doing the HW stuff at least. The level 60 dungeons are a lot of fun, as are the primal/boss fights in HW. Also flying, and if people still do them, the Alexander raids.

Unless things have changed HW MSQ will also level a class to 60 faster than pretty much anything, and the rotations are much better/more fun at 60.

It really raised an eyebrow when I saw this. I expect better of them. They cover more ongoing and upcoming demonstrations than a lot of the media - including fringe leftist media. Sure, they take ultra-left positions on certain issues that I consider to be counterproductive, but it is balanced out by the coverage they provide. Many of these struggles would come and go completely unrecorded without sites like IGD.

This was over the top though. If they want to be ultras, fine. If they want to make the argument that Marxism-Leninism is a trap, or a deviation from the "correct" path towards liberation, fine. But make the fucking argument. Become familiar with what you are criticizing and dismantle it systematically. If you think "Tankies" are a problem because they violate principles you consider to be non-negotiable, say that. Don't do this shit. Don't tell me Nazis are just Tankies with a different flag. It is completely ahistorical and it demonstrates a fundamental misunderstanding of the hierarchy Anarchists seek to dismantle.

In 2018, Heimbach was pushed out of the TWP after attacking his wife and his father-in-law in front of his children in a domestic dispute. After which he attempted to work his way into a local DSA chapter.

    Jesus, what?

I didn’t understand exactly how fascism was a response to liberal capitalism until I read about Strasser or about Mussolini’s Class Collaborationism. Put that together with how hard the populist unity crowd has been grifting since Biden got elected and I now 100% get how people can just let fascists gain power.

I think it’s going to become increasingly important for us to understand antifascist history and communist theory if we want to resist infiltration by not only feds, but by nazis

Yeah for sure. I can easily see a future where someone like Tucker Carlson can be advocating socialism for whites only. This Heimbach guy just seems like a dingus though who wears his fascism on his sleeve and reaches for the meme ideology of Nazbolism.

The Strasser bit was from a Tom Nicholas video that I did some googling about afterwards. Strasser was a Nazi who represented the left wing of the party before Hitler consolidated power. He was the one who recruited Goebbels. He supposedly would have actually pushed to see more worker organization within the party (of course a very narrow definition of worker) but he was purged in the Night of the Long Knives.

The class collaborationism was a straight up part of Mussolini’s writings that I read a bit about after a fascist caught me not knowing that Mussolini was a labor organizer earlier in life. He basically took a look at class divisions and said no these are part of human nature so the classes should do their best to reinforce the natural hierarchy because it’s mutually beneficial

Was still meaningless. Opposing counterrevolutions doesn't constitute a distinct ideology or tendency beyond just principled communists.

  • Awoo [she/her]

It's very difficult to have an insult that's specific to a specific niche tendency of the left when literally nobody outside of the left knows the tendencies of the left.

Once your insult, intended to marginalise one portion of the left, becomes outside the left. It loses all meaning.

This is what happens when your psyop is predicated upon making sure people are confused and politically brainwormed. The brainworms actually work against your psyop. You can't get people to collectively use the word correctly if you're simultaneously aiming to collectively keep them confused about ideology.

It’s Going Down does a lot of good work. A self-described nazbol is basically the real life version of the red fash boogeyman Reddit’s created. Is that term worth ignoring one of the most prominent leftist groups because they used a word kinda cringly? I read AP and CNN for crissake

Except heimbach's not a nazbol, he's a literal throw-me-in-the-cuck-pit nazi. It's completely ideologically dishonest and historicaly revisionist for IGD to do the groundwork for fascists by marrying the socialist name to these rats.

If they want to remain a credible and serious source for socialists they should redact this smear. Like I don't even care if they apologize or not.

You'd expect the self preservation instinct to kick in at some point. It's really obvious any domestic authoritarian leftist narrative is going to be used so people look the other way when they mop up anarchist. Like the whole tankie thing dovetails perfectly with the right wing people saying antifa are the real fascist.

You can already see it with the way people like Ngo frame the Wi Spa thing to draw comparisons between antifa and brown shirts. Then the crackdowns come under guise of protecting civil liberties. The only thing stopping them from using nazbol the way bush era press used Al Qaeda affiliate is a few hours of Tucker to prime the narrative.
