This is an extremely good summary of the recent Chinese policies. Honestly, without any of the usual fearmongering bullshit of NYT and WaPo.

This article is fantastic. They basically admit that policies for the common good may upset business interests.

I find financial journalism refreshing in the way that they are beyond the need to justify their ideology all the time and actually do material analysis.

Yeah, that's a good way of putting it.
Reminds me of Hillary's "seize the means of production" clip. They know that their ideological rhetoric is just a tool to further their material interests rather than something they actually believe in.

Pog. Aside from the part where they describe the CPC as running on prison logic and the ritualistic whining about Xinjiang.

:deng-salute: I salute the brave work of comrade Xi in his struggle against capital. things like this show that the PRC is still a dictatorship of the proletariat, they are hostile to capital and are using market forces to build socialism. despite being a Marxist Leninist, I've always been very critical on the critical support side of using markets and foreign capital to build productive forces and think Deng went too far with allowing capitalism into China, but Xi has very much asserted the roll of the party and of the state of being in opposition to capital

A lot of the vocabulary decisions here really makes it seem like Bloomberg hasn't moved past the Childlike Races phase of China-watching
