This country deserves it. The libs especially deserve the massive psychological damage it would inflict

If they did, Trump would start Emergency Alert System posting

Bitcoin Pervert Jack Dorsey is angry at me for getting back on his sad “app” — too bad he doesn’t know I have a beautiful backup that he can’t ban me from! Sad!

People keep saying this but I don't think it's backed up by much. Even if Trump is dumb as fuck he's got plenty of smarter war hawks around him. Under him drone strikes increased, the military was granted less civilian oversight, an Iranian general was assassinated, and a coup was attempted in Venezuela.

Meanwhile Biden is actually pulling out of Afghanistan. Dems are hawks, but I think this "the Republicans are actually the less hawkish party!" takes on here are just people being contrarian and trying to trigger twitter libs. Also I think modern media weirdly signal boosts hawkish libs a lot to the point they seem more influential than they actually are, polling indicates the actually voting base of the DNC is fairly anti-interventionist, black people for example hate the war in Iraq and Afghanistan and they're the Dems most loyal bloc. I think the New York Times talking heads and CIA interns advocating for woke imperialism on twitter are actually less influential than we think they are, but they end up on the dunk tank more so they piss us off.

I'd imagine the dems plan is to keep pandering to white PMC and now boaters who they're trying to win over by proving they love the police more. It sucks to say, but I can easily see the republicans as the only party that at least acknowledges working class people exist, but it'll be framed in shit like trade jobs and the fossil fuel industry.

Reading some Parenti, it's kinda wild how the the Nazis did the exact same thing - clothe themselves in nominal working man aesthetic but actually enacted policies that screwed them over.

And the thing about this is that you can't remotely compare the two in any way (to them at least) because you won't be taken seriously (i.e. everyone I disagree with is a nazi)

Saager on rising does exactly what you describe

Republicans always held onto the aesthetics of the every day working man even though all of the politicians went to elite schools and were probably in some pedophilic secret society.

Yeah that's it. There's a disconnect from their pandering to working class people and the repub leadership all being millionaires and billionaires. It worked for Trump in 2016. If he's smart, and if he runs, in 2024, I'd say go to the left of Biden. Don't even really have to go far either, hell universal healthcare called "patriot care" would be something.

How do they justify to the people they kept yelling at to "VOTE"

Democrats don't need to be positively good, they just need to be slightly better than the Republicans. Nevermind that the Biden and Trump administrations have the same positions on foreign policy, immigration, drug legalization, prisons, M4A, climate change, student debt, minimum wage, workers' rights, police, and coronavirus responses - as long as Biden is a step to the left of the Republicans, libs will have a whip to force people to vote.

0.001% of climate crisis aversion has been built. Evil penguin-murdering billionaires still spew oil with a shit-eating grin. All he has managed to do is make himself vote.

You just don't understand how government works sweaty. You need to be more pragmatic and remember how much money you can make by jumping through fifty fucking bureaucratic hoops in order to claim a $200 tax rebate. The Democrats ended childhood poverty on Earth forever by increasing the child tax credit you useless horrible piece of fucking shit.

I had an enlightening conversation with my boss today, who has been a professional class middle manager all his adult life. White to boot.

We were talking about all the ways Dems and the Biden admin have either directly inflated the security state or passively allowed it to become inflated. His take wasn't that these things weren't happening, but that they were all perfectly reasonable. He had a just-so explanation for why everything Biden and Co. are doing in that regard is good, actually.

It hit me like a lightning bolt that he really couldn't see past his own class interests and perspectives. Not even he didn't want to, he couldn't. He's spent his whole life as a part of a class that the security state generally protects, so the idea that it could be used to hurt people that didn't "deserve" it was just... unfathomable.

I think people seriously underestimate how reactionary the American voter is. As bad as the Democrats are, more of our problems are demand-side than we want to admit.

To expand on this, we've had centuries of white supremacy that prevented a labor movement on par with those in European social democracies from emerging, the US never existed in the shadow of communism, and the reactionary/neoliberal capture of major media has created an extremely reactionary proletariat in the US. Add in electoral systems such as the Senate and Electoral College that prioritize the votes of low-education white people and you get an electoral politics dominated by reactionary voters.

While the Democrats are still an awful, incompetent party, the reason no left wing party (either a third party or a more left Democratic party) emerged in the US is because there is very little demand for one.

The Dems gained massively from trump being so crass. The "anyone but trump" campaign means that they were able to set expectations ridiculously low - aka Biden

They don't have to. Media won't cover anything in a truly negative light. People aren't even aware of any of that stuff. "Democracy".
