Delta wasn't an "immediate threat" either until it was.

Okay yeah so given what he said about masks and also what he said about the transmissibility of HIV during the height of the AIDS crisis I'm gonna go ahead and assume that it absolutely is

Fuck, man. I remember in March 2020 telling my level-headed aunt and uncle that this thing could potentially go on for a years. "Just look at the Spanish Flu, that pandemic took two years to get control of and we're way more globalized now." "Yeah, but we're so much further ahead in medicine, I think we'll have this handled in 4 months or less." They didn't account for the pandemic to be hyper-politicized and our horribly mishandled management of the whole goddamn thing. I want out of this.

I had similar discussions at the start. Shocking that people are so daft about this stuff in a way.

I moved into a new place like 8 months before covid. Feels like those 8 months were yesterday and they lasted much longer than all this shit has.

just the concept that I've been at this place during covid longer, about twice as long, than before fucks my head. can't even think about it

I'm in the same boat, except with a relationship. Covid pretty much ended my life and its only now starting back up. I dont know what the fuck is gonna happen if my life ends again.

Fuck guys, not to doxx myself but my dayjob had been almost exclusively about limiting covid for two years and I am so fucking tired. So fucking tired. I really don't think I can take another run up the alphabet this winter.

My job has more work as a result of COVID and all of my coworkers are noticeably burnt out from the increased workload that’s been relentless since March 2020

Ugh. And I hate to complain, ya know. I know a lot of ppl who were out of work in the past year, but yeah, it's been pretty much 24-7-365 since last March. Being on all the time is not great and when it's all about one all-consuming subject it just.... I dunno. It's draining and awful and I just want to throttle every incompetent asshole in a position of authority here. Ugh.

That's my pet theory. Regardless of the origin, the US is managing the pandemic as a bio weapon against China. The US has no obligation to address covid at all, but China does, and this could cost them a lot.

Why do libs treat this man like he saved the nation again?

Is it literally just because "Trump thinks the virus isn't real so we shouldn't do anything about it" is somehow worse than "Fauci thinks the virus is real but we shouldn't do anything about it"?
