Tipping over on your bicycle wouldn't tear apart your clothes like that. I've had plenty of bike accidents, none of them have ever reduced my shirt into a bloody strip of fabric. We can call into question Western narratives without disbelieving our own eyes and trying to convince ourselves that people who have been maimed are just taking naps.
