"In the same brief, which calls for Roe to be overturned, Mitchell and co-counsel Adam Mortara, an anti-abortion activist and lawyer who clerked for the supreme court justice Clarence Thomas, said such a decision could open the door for other “lawless” rights and protections to be reversed, including the right to have gay sex and the right to same-sex marriage."
These people should unironiclly be fed feet first into wood chippers
Written in 1911. This might have made sense back then when there were thousands of factories each with a separate owner, but does this still hold true under late stage capitalism now that all factories have been bought up and operate under the control of fewer than a hundred conglomerates?
But were talking about owners, not managers. If you yeet a Sackler, a Bezos, a Musk (maybe all three) in minecraft wouldn't that lead to a more interesting reaction than just a police action?
all three on the same day would send a loud message that you are coordinated and organized enough to be a real threat to the rest of the class
yeah and that's when they start sending out the Boston Dynamics Manhacks and Temporal Disruption fields
Capitalism is resilient cuz it's based on lots of people wanting to be tirants
Glad they up and admitted it's just because they don't want us fucking. Puritan psychos.
Rip to the rest of you I guess but if someone raped me I would simply go to this address to have a chat with Jonathan Mitchell face to face about the importance of reproductive rights and the absurdity of that statement
We must reach across the aisle and find a bipartisan solution to rape.
And you also know, if no consent contract was signed and someone gets pregnant or seeks an abortion, the lack of consent contract will only be used against... certain people.
This is the (hopefully) the death rattle of the white religious right in America. From a social issues / culture war standpoint, they know the war is over. Pews are emptying out across country, the percent of the population that is white is steadily decreasing, and kids these days have significantly less respect for them than they did for their parents and grandparents growing up (and very justifiably so). This is them lashing out at a world they correctly perceive is just trying to move beyond them. Their power and privilege is waning fast and they're gonna kick and scream on their way out.
I wish I had your optimism. In my opinion, a minoritarian government can rule despite being unpopular.
Not only will the ‘kicks and screams’ ruin millions of lives, but :porky-happy: will just find a new caucusing mechanism afterwards to keep the major parts of hegemony in place.
Yeah I mean tbf I'm not as optimistic as I sound here. In places like South Africa, you can see how white folks - when they have the backing of capital - are able to hold onto a significant amount of power despite being like 10-15% of the population.
how much you wanna bet they'll make an exception for mixed race rape?
