Maybe it is just my ADHD but I can't concentrate with any sort of flashing light in the room.

My friend uses his RGB-lit gaming pc for his home theater and he can happily watch movies and TV with 8 RGB fan lights flashing.

It is beyond bizarre to me.

I never understood that either, but my personal theory is that different people just require different amounts of stimulation. I've been thinking about it a lot in terms of music preferences. Like I feel overwhelmed listening to heavy metal and prefer downtempo minor-key music instead, which a lot of my friends (who like heavy metal) find extremely depressing and boring.

Yeah, I'm the same with very bombastic-style music. I can stand a bit of it, like at the beginning of a soccer game, but hours of it on end is my idea of hell.

Downtempo minor key triphop is dope.

On the other hand, it almost requires more energy to have in the background for me than the wall of sound that is often heavy metal etc

I got a bunch of RGB fans and components and I just left them on static white since like day two (the case is white as well). Looks clean AF, kind of a portal turret aesthetic.

I simply like colourful pretty things like some kind of magpie and also pointless customisation.

I have a bunch of different keys and macros for different games and programs too, and different colour schemes for each let me easily see which profile I've got selected.

You need to be on the right drugs to truly appreciate living next to a strobe light.

I got a mouse for free with my case; the case has no lighting but the mouse just flashes random colors for two seconds each. There is no way to stop this. I went so far as to call the 'manufacturer' - they got it from some generic subcontractor and didn't know if there was any way to stop it flashing. I meant to get another mouse at some point, but I just got used to it. Now I watch movies and somehow ignore the bright random color LEDs blaring by the corner of the monitor, until something reminds me of this fucking thing. I almost love how awful it is.

Likewise for transparent PC cases/panels. Its a holdover from 00s futurism that weve just... kept

Shout outs to my high school friend with the kill bill yellow PC case with chrome exhaust pipes.

I'm running a case with LED's built in and I didn't even wire them up - then again I didn't even know the case had them until I had owned it for a few months.

unhooked mine too. i have a large fan at the top of the case that blows upwards and it had this extremely illuminating blue light that was impossible to sleep with it on.

I’ve got a pc with fully kitted out rgb. I set everything to white to make it look like tron.

Yeah I hate having lights in my peripheral vision, to the point of taping over the power lights on my monitors and computer tower.
