I feel like police unions will keep doing this until they try it on like, the American equivalent of Rob Ford and he just fires them all and crime becomes legal in Portland for three weeks.

I love how people on here (me included) were saying they were just posturing and would probably cave in the end to keep their jobs as thugs for capital, and they're like no we actually believe this shit and we're gonna quit our jobs as cops to own the people that want to abolish the police.

I hate knowing that fire fighters are doing this. Like, a majority are first responders or paramedics/EMTs. You should know how this stuff works.

Brainworms don't operate on the conscious level. I knew 5 EMT/medics who walked out rather than get the shot. 4 of them got re-hired at companies that don't care.

Is it just because how heavily politicized this entire pandemic has been?

Pretty much, it's a split between 3 chuds who think it's going to make you sterile or something, and 2 POC guys who are convinced they're gonna get Tuskegee'd.

Like, they all think vaccines work. But this one is nefarious.

What a hell of a way to die had an episode talking about this recently, It was specifically related to the military but they know it's a political thing and they don't care (most of them anyway)

I think it was this one

I got SO MANY fucking shots in the military. I’m basic and before my deployments you get jabbed a fuck ton. So that makes no sense to me about them freaking out. Literally everything you interact with will either cause cancer or lead to mental health issues.

              But not the vaccine!

I get that this isn’t a “vaccine” but why would you still not want to protect yourself from something new that has never effected humans before. We can argue about how helpful a flu shot is, but those aren’t the same as this one.

Their paranoia is greater than their sense of self preservation. A "I'll take my chances" attitude, combined with burnout.

Like, shit, I'm burned out. Past any illusion I'm making a difference on a daily basis. The obvious decay of the system over the pandemic is doing weird shit to people. One hospital I know is dangerously close to violating EMTALA rn cause the nurses are just saying "Fuck it. It never ends, it's broken, has been broken, and will not be fixed."

Would be ripe for labor organizing if they weren't all mostly grill libs or already convinced unions are illegal or something.

Lol, they still have to have like 5+ other vaccinations.

        Hep A/B, tetanus, flu, etc.

        Why die on covid hill?

In my experience it's really hard to get a firefighter job, so this is a gift to non-chuds who want a job that inarguably benefits society.

Cop jobs are the same way, there are places with hundreds of applicants for single positions. If a department wanted to they could replace them in a week.

Maybe for the suburbs and some big cities but most mid-size cities have a hard ass time finding candidates.

Portland, OR in theory has enough payroll to pay 300 cops, they have 170.
