Big win for the biggest union in America. After years of limp dick diplomacy that allowed the bosses to start making lives more miserable for all affiliated teamster branches the teamsters strike back by electing a guy that's not just willing to say he's going to organize mass strikes but is willing to do it if the bosses don't bend over for the workers.

It's gonna be delicious watching not just Amazon quaking in their boots with their impending war to unionize them, but also all the other already unionized corps like UPS, the airlines, trucker corps, etc. Having to cope with giving back more to the workers

Election results

Sean O'Brien: total votes: 115573

Steve Vairma: total votes: 57983

The Hoffa endorsed candidate Vairma got crushed up and down the ballot you love to see it folks.

Feel like supporting the militant unionists movement in the teamsters? Check out their website for opportunities or shit

Socialism will probably never come to America as we know it, but militant labor unions and organizing against imperial wars is the best we can do as American leftists. Weaken American capital while ensuring socialist movements won’t be interfered with in the developing world.

Edit: this guy’s top priority is to unionize Amazon. Fuckkkk.

Not with that attitude fam. Join a party/org and get your beak wet with the surging waves of labor militancy.

Who needs idealist optimism when you got materialist realism. The class consciousness of the American workers is ripening with every strike across the country and you have to be terminally online to the point you've fused to your armchair to think now isn't the time for the socialist left to move in lockstep with the worker movement

Of course the left needs to work in tandem with the worker movement. But there's no reason to believe it's going to work. This is America, good things don't happen here

The right side won the Civil War. Jim Crow aint a thing no more, Weed is getting legalized. good things can and do happen and losing sight of em is a one way ticket to just becoming Bill Maher

What's the point of being on this platform we specifically can't get banned from, if we're not gonna actually speak our minds? Why censor yourself as if you're on Reddit when the whole point of hex bear is that it's not reddit?

Edit not denying your point tho

gotta hold on to hope. There's going to be a lot of chaos this century, and chaos leads to change.

as the UK communist party said "we may have lost Plymouth but we won China"

a reference to a recent electoral loss and the Maoist takeover of China which they had helped with by using strikes to prevent arms shipments to the RoC

Socialism will probably never come to America as we know it,

That's defeatist, if it aint coming then there's no reason to agitate for anything getting better.

        As we know it

That is doing the heavy lifting. Socialism will come to the geographic area that is currently called America, but the American identity is incompatible with socialism.

how can teamsters get pushed around they can literally stop all the major supply chains in america at will. It's like a coal miners union getting pushed around in the UK in the 70's.

Hoffa junior was in bed with bosses to make up for the fact his daddy was in the Mafia's pocket and using teamster funds for laundering I believe.

First part dunno, doesn't seem like it. second part he got voted in on the promise to bring stability back to the union which i guess is true if you consider agreeing to shittier contracts with the boss to not rock the boat bringing stability

The federal government just let the oversight expire this year I think. They were under heavy scrutiny for like 50 years.

TDU will likely bring that back, but for a different reason.
