One christmas, centuries ago, they marathoned the Star Wars original trilogy during christmas. It was the first time I saw them fully, and not just the small snippets from terrible quality VHS tapes.

So, Star Wars is my Christmas movie. Fucking fight me, nerds. :meow-knife-trans:

Growing up, every year my family would watch Elf at least 10 times over the holidays. I have seen that movie so much that I genuinely can't tell if it is good or bad. Is it my favourite Xmas movie? I don't know, but it is Elf, and it must be watched

I've never seen it but it came out when I was twelve and as an only child I cut out kids shit way earlier than those around me, especially those with younger siblings and kids would yell quotes from it. It seems fucking stupid. Will Ferrell can be funny on his own but he was in every awful early 2000s comedy. The only good Christmas movie is the Hogfather.

Is no one else here rotting their brains by watching A Christmas Story 7.5 times in 24 hours on TBS?

Mine is The Muppet Christmas Carol - What better way to celebrate the holidays than a story about haunting a capitalist until he agrees to redistribute his wealth? :sicko-wholesome:

Marley and Marley is a banger, and Micheal Caine's performance is enough to forgive him of being English.

My absolute favorite. One of the historical costuming youtubers I follow posted a video about making herself a costume like Gonzo's and I'm trying to decide when to watch it for maximum fun. Should I make my brothers watch with me before watching Christmas Carol together? Decisions, decisions.

My favorite Christmas movie is The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. Most people don't realize that the red hats symbolize them being elves and Steve being Santa. They are spreading Christmas cheer and wonder through the ocean through dynamite and alcoholism.

I contend that Gremlins is a Christmas movie. It's literally about a Christmas present gone awry. Also the dead Santa dad monologue :chefs-kiss:

But I'm basic af and like the home alone movies. The trump cameo in the beginning is bloody hilarious given modern context.

Only movie I watch during christmas is "Sagan om Karl-Bertil Jonssons julafton" and that is thankfully only 23 minutes long.

It is about a child who decides to take christmas gifts from the rich and give them to the poor. I will continue supporting it as it makes the worst kind of neoliberals incredibly mad that it is a christmas institution if nothing else.

I recently watched it for the first time since I was a kid and found it surprisingly funny. It really holds up IMO.

Ok, but Die Hard is a really great action movie. McTiernan is one of the all time GOAT directors

"I shot a kiiiiiiid" really encapsulates the condition of the American :thumb-cop:. The only part that makes it unbelievable is that Carl Winslow actually shows remorse, but he overcomes this and is back to committing acts of gun violence by the end of the film. What a character arc!
