not good!
Yeah, this is a bad sign.
The data shows that 29% of COVID-19 admissions in the 0-to-4 age group had severe disease - a proportion similar to that in several other age groups, and significantly lower than the percentage of severe disease among patients over 60.

They don't know if it's omicron or delta at this point, but it's not promising.
Stock up on TP.
Yeah, the first wave hit older and young people the hardest, then the second wave hit everyone with a spike in young adults.
8 months after the initial outbreak yeah. I thought delta was going to be that but it seems I was wrong.
is it because all the old people died already? Which would mean that the remaining old people would be relatively resistant to COVID to start with?
We're at the point where mask mandates are being obviously ignored and no one gives a shit. Like the same way everyone pretends they wash their hands after peeing but only does it when there's someone else in the public bathroom with them. No one's wearing a mask unless they're worried someone will call them out on it but everyone's so tired that no one is enforcing anything anymore. The only people still wearing masks where I live are the service industry workers who have to for their job

OH IT'S THE PLAGUE THAT NEVER ENDS
AND IT GOES ON AND ON MY FRIENDS
SOME PEOPLE STARTED SPREADING IT NOT KNOWING WHAT IT WAS
AND WE WILL KEEP ON SPREADING IT FOREVER JUST BECAUSE
:agony-consuming:
Nice to wake up and see my country featured in this graph
:doomjak:
I don't think they make n95s for 0-5 year olds though...
Also haven't got second vaccine dose yet because the local vaccine facility closed down and I don't have a car, definitely don't want to take a taxi at the moment (minibus crammed full of people) and can't drive.
Goodbye Lennin beard. :ussr-cry:
Stalin stache, you'll be doing twice the work to keep my face communist. I hope you're up to it. :bugs-stalin:
:thonk-cri: y-yeah, not like I've been doing that for two years already or anything.
in all likelihood the best vaccines do for this strain is slightly reduce severity. You should still get a booster, since it could be the difference between a severe case and a deadly case, but it won't stop you from getting sick as fuck
not proven but likely enough that you should assume it's true
To back you up, I am fully vaxxed and got over it in about a week. It sucks shit and I lost my sense of smell, but it wasn't that bad compared to what friends of mine experienced last year before the vaccine.
It's also incredibly contagious, like 7 people who were vaccinated all got it and everyone in my household got it.
:shrek-pixel-despair:
It's spreading twice as fast as delta and it's making younger people sicker.
Kids under 12 can't get vaccines in South Africa yet as well.
