      Haha, no kidding. Plus:

We are grateful for our long-standing relationship with Economist Impact, which developed the data across 195 countries to make this project possible.

Love having my data developed - whatever that means - by one of the worlds biggest pro-capitalist rags.

Apparently China has one of the lowest effectiveness' in the category " RAPID RESPONSE TO AND MITIGATION OF THE SPREAD OF AN EPIDEMIC" according to this, of course defying all evidence or logic

here is a liberal logic: China "let" the virus spread outside its borders instead of immediately neutralizing all infected people with magic, thus all the cases and deaths in Western countries are actually China's fault. Do not try to apply this logic anywhere else (such as for varient spread) because then it could make the USA look bad, which is impossible because the US is a good and just nation that does not do anything wrong.

Holy shit I read a good portion of this, what the fuuuuuuuuck. This report is fucking clown shit, I feel like I’m going insane reading it. It’s like they literally pretended the last two years didn’t happen and also that the United States has a completely different medical system than it does. I genuinely cannot believe that this was published unironically.

Just gonna assume that the scoring here is not weighing minimizing spread and population survive as major indicators of success lmao

They put New Zealand - a country that's eliminated the disease inside its borders - under the UK and Germany - which are currently experiencing big Omicron flare-ups. Even by the AlwaysTheSameMap standards, its fucked.

“During the second cold war, the hyper-capitalist ideological framework could transform any data about existing neoliberal societies into lionizing evidence. If the Americans refused to negotiate a point, they were principled and righteous; if they appeared willing to make concessions, this was but a pragmatic move to put the enemy off their guard. By supporting arms limitations, they would have demonstrated their benign intent; but when in fact they opposed most armament treaties, it was because they were acting in the interest of protecting their allies. If the churches in the USA were empty, this demonstrated that religious needs were well-handled by occultist start-ups ; but if the churches were full, this meant the people were full of spirit and commitment to the God-blessed nation. If the workers went on strike (as happened on frequent occasions), this was evidence of their being empowered to do so by the liberal system; if they didn’t go on strike, this was because their needs were so well-satisfied. An excess of consumer supplies meant that capitalism was creating wealth for the world; A diminished availability of consumer goods signaled the start of a new and better relation of consumer and commodity, a ‘Great Reset’, where the citizen would ’ own nothing and be happy’."

the "index" was developed by the brain trust at The Economist, the Bill Gates Foundation was a financial backer, and at Johns Hopkins, it's the Bloomberg School of Public Health. so basically, all the billionaires came together to say USA#1.
