Cuba is famous for their generous and timely disaster aid response. They did offer, and we turned them down while people suffered.
Back in the day, Amy Goodman and Democracy Now did some great reporting on Chavez and Venezuela. Probably the only mainstream source that gave him positive coverage.
AFAIK Cuba allows US students to go to Havana and get a medical degree for free, provided that they promise to practice medicine among the poor once they get home.

It’s not like the us even needs the help, they could do all kinds of shit if this wasn’t a giant grift masquerading as a country but it’s still fucked up that China could never do anything to help us citizens even if they really wanted or had to bc of how petty and fucked up the us is.
If China sent aid, and US workers reieved it, all propaganda against China would forever fall flat. It's kinda like how an abusive spouse needs to control who you speak to in case someone manages to help you see and respond to the abuse in a healthy manner.

They'll always remember the time that they were given tons of lifesaving medical supplies by China and it'll come up whenever they hear that China is evil and using humanitarian aid to control people.
They'll be like "wait, no they didn't? They just gave us that stuff".
And everyone around them, their media, their "elected officials" will be telling them it was nothing but a ploy. I don't know. I'd bet you're right about the majority of them. But others who already had preconceived notions about cHiNa and its role on the world stage will just be aching for some mental gymnast to tell them why their original opinion of China is still the correct take.

Fascist propaganda beats material aid through genocide and violence. They win by preventing improvements to material conditions and blaming the suffering that follows on racial subgroups or the very communists they prevented from providing aid.
Yes, but material aid will always trump propaganda. You can't eat or live in propaganda.
I'm not saying they will, I'm just saying that material aid is the best way to fight against propaganda. No matter what they'll be targeted by the American hegemony, but actually providing aid and helping to rebuild a community will massively increase their support from that community.
Didn't Covid kinda disprove this? If the brain-worms are sufficiently advanced, they can absolutely trump material reality. In particular I'm thinking about the hundreds of thousands of people who know someone who died of COVID, and is still refusing to either get vaccinated or wear masks, or do literally anything to prevent themselves from becoming the next corpse on the pile.
The issue with COVID was lack of response. Because there was no material aid and good active education going on, it allowed more insidious fascist propaganda to slip in.
There wasn't a solid safety net, and tons of people lost their jobs.

This happened in Greece. I don't remember the specifics, I think China bailed out their debts or something and Greece vetoed an EU act against China after the fact
China totally renegotiated agreements for Greece when asked to. The initial deal was incredibly one sided and negotiated by morons used to dealing with the IMF. Yanis came in and told them it was unfair and they completely agreed to all his conditions without any pushback.
