Also, Happy Holidays :meow-bounce:
I don't know much about Christianity but isn't this like blasphemy or something
thats okay, most evangelicals dont know much about christianity either
In the grand scheme of things, Christmas is kind of a lame ass holiday. It's not commemorating some great struggle, or forcing you to contemplate some deep fact about society or theology, it's just "oh its God's birthday, everyone say happy birthday god".
some deep fact about society or theology
an eternal, all-powerful deity becoming human, God with us, birthed of a human mother in a feeding trough, to rid humanity of its inhumanity
:bruh-moment:
to rid humanity of its inhumanity
Most Christians would say it was only to rid a small subset of humanity of it's inhumanity, giving them eternal bliss in heaven; while for the rest of humanity it means you get eternal torment. i.e. Jesus becoming human allows the opportunity to avoid eternal torment, not the actual giving of it. So kinda like how Americans have access to freedom, not real freedom.
The "peace on earth good will towards men" is pure marketing.
Another reason we must pray for the swift divine judgment of America :amerikkka:
the original pagan festival that "christmas" supplanted was centered around the winter solstice, celebrating the triumph of light over darkness. Jesus is now the light.
This isn’t even the right holiday for that! That’s Easter you dumb motherfuckers!
It was probably taken at Easter, but also a weird thing about evangelicalism is that Jesus' death HAS to be mentioned at all times, on every occasion. Like they can't consider Jesus birth, ministry, etc without referencing Jesus' death in the same sentence. End game gets you piss poor theology, sad! :trump-anguish:
I'm pretty sure stacking the boxes like that would be physically impossible.
What I wrote above is the caption from when it was posted at some point in the past
Ahhhhh, sorry. I get worked up a bit on this topic as I still deal with a bit of religious - I don't know if trauma is the right work, but yeah, maybe trauma.
