Honestly, theres a level of buy-in that makes me think that if these people were invested in dunking on weirdos that all eventually came to embody the right, that theres hardly a chance that the CIA or FBI is operating that deeply to have brought these people around.

I guess the difference is we wouldn't know if he had. Brace's life story is kinda just out there, Shaun is (entirely understandably) more cautious with his personal details.

You really sure that Shaun is not secretly doing an accent and is in reality a CIA agent from Syria doing disinformation?

I wouldn’t be surprised if brace has some tie in if it ever came to light, considering the reality of his background. But not for the reasons the cranks say. And he’s not at the current moment obvsly

He almost certainly at least met/spoke to agency people when he was overseas, and probably when he came back, just because he was in a place/situation where there was significant intelligence interest.

But that doesn't mean he works for them.

Yeah he mentioned the US liaisons taking him aside in Rojava and asking him if they had taught him to make bombs, hijack stuff, etc. Like I keep saying, it'd be like suspecting Stalin cause of Yalta

It's a background image, some screenshots, some video clips, and Shaun just talking over it. Just slightly higher production value than Hakim's videos.

Very disappointed at Max Blumenthal. Vaccines have been saving lives for centuries AND the US government sucks. Both can be true, stop with the antivax shit.

Never listened to Jimmy Dore and I never want to now. What's he known for, if anything?

    • disco [any]

He's mostly known for promoting the red brown alliance by platforming proud boys/boogaloo boys, and before that for attacking our congressional succdems as part of the "force the vote" controversy.

    • Duckduck [none/use name]

He promotes intra-left infighting by criticizing too much and focusing on the negative.

However, I must say one of the highlights of my political life was watching the video where Jimmy Dore realized that Barry Sanders was a Judas goat the whole time, and that he'd been had. Right after he endorsed Biden and turned all of his contributions over to the DNC IIRC.

I liked Dore for a while after Clinton lost because he was one of the few outlets blaming Clinton for fucking it up, and getting mad at the people trying to blame Bernie, and his anti-war rants were pretty on point because he finds the death toll of war sickening and just assumes the US is lying about everything with regards to foreign policy (which makes you correct most of the time). But he's just a reactionary crank, really. Basically zero materialist understanding of politics which leads to dumb shit like being an anti-vaxxer and the red-brown alliance nonsense. Probably chasing whatever opinions get him the most youtube views.

He was always yelling at the dems back in TYT which earned him some followers, because "omg this simple guy is mad and is also right". Then he left TYT and had his own show, which now became some shitty "left" anti-vaxx hellhole which got absolutely owned by Shaun.

"It looks like it has to have had some resources behind it."

Jimmy has more resources behind his videos than Shaun, who often talks for tens of minutes at a time with nothing but his skull image background on screen, and all he did was actually read the articles that Jimmy was quoting and spot the inconsistencies with the quotes.

It's so funny how bad Dore's content is too. Like the guy pulls up clickbaity headlines, skims the article (50/50 misinterpreting it) all while pausing every other sentence to wheeze and crack a "joke" and then boasting that you shouldn't take him serious cause he is a "jagg-off" comedians. And then wheezes some more at his own jokes

I tried watching his stuff maybe 5 years ago or maybe longer and I just could not look past how bad his jokes were and then laughing at them for a minute straight just repeating the same variation of the same thing. They usually weren't even like orginal.

Legitimately disappointed in Blumenthal over this shit because some of his work is really important and linking to it on topics about HK or other shit will result in much more dismissiveness from people due to bad faith takes like this.

They know they're not in bed with the CIA, they've done some stuff with marketing companies that reached out over covid. I get it.

With that said, the data on their audiences that has been handed over as a result of this is legitimately dangerous to be giving away. It will be folded into influence campaigns to deradicalise people.

In the same way that Blumenthal has fallen, so has Greenwald. Just kind of fucking sad that theyve all gone crazy, rather than internalizing the schizophrenic world we live in.

His content is some of the best but is production quality is some of the simplest. His research and writing must take ages but the actual video is pretty much just recording himself talking and then editing in some pictures.

Listen, its great to say shit like that, but there is a certain line that a lot of people arnt quite prepped for where the feds would actually move on. Saying "when bad people die, its good" shouldnt raise any of those flags, for anybody, but America is completely fucked. Different though if you say "Killing bad people is awesome, is anyone planning anything like that around here?" which is something i saw someone post on the chapo sub and to numerous other places simultaneously.

The video doesn't even have that many views for one of Shaun's - its at 600k views, when the average view count of his 10 prior videos is 1 million views. Obviously those have been up for longer, but it seems very unlikely this one will overtake them in views.

Yeah, but it’s likely true that Thorn’s agent agreed to paid appearances and content creation by Valant, funded by Royal backed nonprofit. It’s like that travel bloggers do with tourist destinations. And dore likely received money from a Syrian non profit. It happens. They’re all businesses.

I was here and I don't remember that at all. This forum is where I first heard of the dude and it was always in the context of "he's a grifter," with an occasional addendum of "but he might be useful." There was often some arguments deep down in the threads, to be fair, but I never got the impression that his supporters had a sizeable presence.

I mean if you consider how AOC took donations and acted as a bundle for spooks (ex cia or military reps who are in the problem solvers and new dem coalition) and a number of other things, it seems obvious. Wouldn’t be expensive to pay off two or three people to really push FTV (why not FTV on military budget or Biden agenda, for example, rather than speaker vote where the alternative to Pelosi is someone more conservative lmao)
