According to the dossier she prepared, an interviewee on the Marketplace program said China is continuing to have lockdowns because the vaccine they're using doesn't work.

I'm mostly an idiot. Adult life has severely atrophied my brain, so I'm just gonna assume I'm not being lied to.

China doesn't even exist anymore. That's how bad it is.

China has two vaccines that work as well as J&Js which is 84% efficacy against Delta after two doses.

They are still developing an MRNA vaccine because the US hasn't shared their magic lipid sauce.

No, you don't understand, the corporations must keep their methods of life-saving technology private so the evil CCP doesn't malevolently help the poor by deviously giving them free healthcare. We must trust Bill Gates, who is a good person and has never done anything self-serving in his magnanimous life. Death is freedom, you see.

My parents are libs, but I'm pretty sure my dad has never heard NPR, and the one time my mom heard it was my fault. But my in-laws fucking love it. There's even rituals around it. Did you know that if you're a true NPR head you have to listen to it on Thanksgiving so you can hear them play the entire Alice's Restaurant album? Why the fuck would you do that to yourself?

Fair enough, at least with Fox I won't feel the need to point out the subtleties of how everything they're saying is framed disingenuously at minimum

Ceasing to listen to NPR was one of the best decisions I've ever made for my mental health.

I still listen to it when I'm bored in the car but only to get a grasp on whatever dumb shit the libs are focused on that week. My favorite reoccurring segment is when they go to Miami and ask the folks there what their thoughts are on the Cuban protests or whatever

Last time I gave it a try it was for that reason: "What are the lib big-brains vomiting up now?" It only led to me to become extremely enraged for however many minutes I listened to it. I would say the foreign coverage is the worst, but most of the domestic stuff is just as poisonous.

Does this mean the nerds think that we still have covid because our vaccines don’t work

      https://www.webmd.com/vaccines/covid-19-vaccine/news/20211227/covid-booster-protection-wanes-new-data

I mean against omicron the vaccines really suck (even the booster) for preventing the disease. It’s why omicron is spreading fucking everywhere. Still too early to see how much they help keeping people out of the hospital.

I think it means the nerds are as dumb as the rest of us. Anyone imagining they'll be saved by a nerdtocracy is extremely dumb.

When I'm boosted and vaccinated and in the hospital from this shit I'm going to go out making shit posts with evidence about it all

        That's my current retirement plan

    They're correct.

It's definitely not because there is a new variant. Or because we know lockdowns work. Nope nope nope, it's just because they're too dumb to develop a vaccine as good as the Americans

    • FirstToServe [they/them]

Look, we can afford to absolutely say 'fuck doing anything' because OUR vaccine works SO WELL that we can ignore the giant population that refuses to touch it.

I mean it wouldn't make sense for someone with a working vaccine to act differently than us so obviously something isn't adding up.

I'm pretty sure at least some of the Chinese vaccines are more effective against omicron in particular than the American vaccines that were more effective against the previous strains. Something to do with them being whole virus vaccines?
