Did you know that abusers engage in love bombing? Love bombing is when you meet someone on Tinder but then they don't like you, so they go date someone else.

Contrary to popular belief it's not abuse when someone confides in you that their privacy has been violated, so you screenshot that exact message and post it to your large TikTok audience, triggering a worldwide harassment and doxxing campaign over someones lack of sexual morality, and worst of all, not continuing to date YOU

Really cool to get Quaker Oats or something to call your date a fucking slut

That was my reaction the first 9 times this shit showed up in my feed.

There's literally a worldwide doxxing campaign started by a bunch of New York yuppies who got mad a guy didn't date them exclusively. The guy lost his job and his personal details are all over the internet. Just millions of psychos calling some guy a filthy whore

Whenever I try to distill this problem I always come back to western enforcement of standards of beauty combined with gender related economic power dynamics.

There are (at least) three overlapping systemic forces at play here.

well what I think is strange is that the "incel" movement has existed basically since the early internet as far as I can tell, I do not recall the femcel thing taking off until somewhat recently

the closest thing I can think of from a while ago is the all female imageboard crystalcafe which is/was filled with TERF protofemcels

the term incel was coined by a woman. Its meaning has evolved a lot since then and the term "femcel" is very problematic.

Absolutely incredible expression of western """culture""" that these people saw incels committing mass shootings and thought "yeah, that's the kind of energy we need on our side!"

whatevercels, dating strategy/game communities, alla that shit is a counterproductive reaction to the fundamentally broken state of romance and relationships in neoliberal capitalism. their contempt-which-is-desire for the people they supposedly want to court is ugly and stupid, but it's hard to find something better for them.

I admittedly am not familiar with the subreddit but isn't there a pretty crucial difference between an oppressor group (in this case, men) doing something to an oppressed group (in this case, women) and the oppressed group doing something to the oppressor group? I feel like overlooking that difference is how you get shit like Vaush comparing decolonization movements with Nazi blood and soil nationalism.

just as bad as the kkk

Bad but surely not that bad

              literally just incels

Unless they call each other unlovable and ugly to further entrench everyone, egg each other on to commit violence, and deify mass shooters, then it's another case of still bad but not that bad

TBF there are people who think it was cool and based to try and assassinate Andy Warhol and tried to treat it as like an actual feminist statement, so you never know what people will support because of simplistic "oppressor/oppressed" dynamic analysis.

                Edit:

                extremely transphobic quote

"When the male accepts his passivity, defines himself as a woman (males as well as females thing men are women and women are men), and becomes a transvestite he loses his desire to screw (or to do anything else, for that matter; he fulfills himself as a drag queen) and gets his dick chopped off. He then achieves a continuous diffuse sexual feeling from `being a woman'. "

As Bunhead said, I feel like how reactionary vs liberatory they are is the key factor here. Oppressor vs oppressed dynamics can't be ignored but sometimes people really are just getting angry and hating people in a purely reactionary sense with no greater sense of wanting society to improve.

Nah FDS are members of the oppressor group in the sense that they're a bunch of miserable middle class - upper middle class (PMC) who have created a small echo-chamber to reinforce the cucked antihuman thinking endemic to toxic masculinity and capitalist meritocracy. They never "punch up" and rag on men with large salaries for abusing their power, its all just "hurr durr look at this 4/10 low value male who wants to date me lul he cant even buy me a ferrari bcuz he's min wage worker trash"

The FDS community is a reaction to the toxic abusive behavior perpetuated by a lot of straight men in society, which is a real problem and thus they aren't as bad to redpillers or incels who think it's unjust that women won't sleep with them. There is legit and helpful advice to be found there, however the community is also an overreaction and thus half of it is just buckwild. Like there are posts about men who have committed heinous shit mixed in equal measure to posts about how said behavior is caused by bad genes and DNA, and that women need to practice "good breeding." They are also radfems, and like many radfems for some reason, are TERFS; before it was banned the subreddit GenderCritical had a massive overlap with FDS. There's also a lot of classism, since their definition of high value "males" and women is tied up with wealth, and ableism since they advise against dating people with any mental health issues and throw are the r-word. It's basically doubling down on patriarchal gender norms (men must be the primary providers and gift givers because those are masculine traits) to own the patriarchy.

Finally learned what this is about and now I'm even more confused.

I thought it was something like the Japanese guy who had many girlfriends and told them all different birthdays so he'd get gifts and treated to food across the year. But this is just a guy casually dating several people, how did this blow up?

It sounds like he was dating multiple people simultaneously while telling them all he wasn't. She says he was dating her and the other person several times while telling them both he wasn't on hinge anymore and he wasn't seeing anyone. It's not that he went on a date and never saw either of them again.

I still don't get it, what the fuck is going on? Who is Caleb? Why is there a woman talking on the twitter video, but the image on this post is polface? Who needs public execution? Why am I feeling a deep sense of existential dread reading all of this? Where is mommy, im scawed...

Caleb is a guy who was active on hinge and went on dates with women. He stopped talking to them afterwards. A load of them are tiktok people so they decided to try and ruin this guys life for clicks (hey, they got the clicks I guess). Then companies decided to jump in as it blew up. The guy in question lost his job because of this as well.

That is the long and short of it. Social media is a fuck.

You don't get to use a dating app to select your cream of the crop guy and then get mad when he also got a bunch of other women doing the same thing with him.

You picked him cos he was hot or something, and because of that he finds it easy to get dates. Literally grow up or find some uglier guy with no game. This is high school shit.

They weren't even girlfriends or anything, they were literally dates. I'd say this guy dodged a bullet if they're acting like this.

Also people are saying he lost his job??? Like, why? What for?

Intentional. Along with the speech cadence and insufferable smugness

People consume content on TikTok by scrolling through a million videos quickly, so the "creators" try to appear as quirky and unique as possible to make the users stop scrolling.

I thought "wow that's crazy" when I thought this was just the drama du jour, but this fucker is really getting dogpiled by brands and lost his job, huh? We're out here doing ostracism folks.

I think this guy maybe was kinda shitty by acting like he wasn't dating around when he was (and this is all gossip shit, anyway), but it's the level of shitty or duplicitous that almost everybody is at some point in some fashion. The kind of thing that might get you a reputation within a certain crowd as a consequence. But now we get to engage in this in spectacular fashion - we will perform our anger and pain onto a symbolic representation of a fuckboy, since we no longer have real social circles of our own.

And the brands get to virtue signal in order to sell the feeling of righteousness as well as oats. (But Quaker Oats have always been a bit self righteous)

P.S. look forward to the backlash to the backlash, since these women will absolutely receive an insane amount of shit for this in turn, which will give cause to call out everyone who participated. couple folks double down in a weird way, some people distance themselves from all of it, crowd moves on, we call it a day.
