Checks out. My doctor has just stopped sending me the results of my PCR tests. And they now look at me funny when I want one, and just tell me to take the at-home rapid test to see if I've filled up on enough COVID to top off and spill over (IK, IK, just give me my moment of irony, please).

Well it's an American sport so nationalism is baked into it for some reason.

Doesn't matter who wins, the Air Force still flies 50 million dollar school bus destroying machines over the squealing hogs.

Somehow they need to throw the Patriots in there for a three-way. I don't really know or care how football works, but I'm sure this can be made to happen. It'd be too perfect a combo.

tbf in January 2020 it wasn't Trump vs. Biden, we all still had hope for Bernie. Also the media was still pushing Pete heavy after Iowa. It wasn't Trump vs Biden until March 2020.

I know it was necessary for us to move on from the Bernie moment, and maybe we were too hopeful - Bernie would have been crushed by forces beyond any of us had he actually succeeded, the liberals then declaring "socialism doesn't work" and it'd be another 26 years before the left rose again-but lord I still look back on that period with a certain wistfulness. Call it romantic, utopian, idealist, whatever, they were good months, and honestly the last time I had any hope. Then Bernie fell, and it all fell apart.

That primary and the sabotaged pandemic policies combined cracked my lib programming irretrievably, and I was reading Lenin for the first time when the uprising in Minneapolis broke out

Those candidates are going to be in that election. Again. And again. Forever. Both with the gene-deep certainty that they are more than a biological puppet. A dream that they had inside a locked room. The dream that they represent an electorate.

Technically, endemic means that a virus has achieved predictable seasonal patterns. Covid waves continue to be governed by the rapid, random evolution of new dominant strains. Officials and their stenographers are wishcasting when they say "endemic".

I'm still in line waiting to vote for Bernie at the South Carolina Democratic primary. They can't refuse you if you showed up before the polls closed, and I've been camped out here to make sure my vote counts. Others are here too, my hope is that we'll get the SC primary to swing toward Bernie so people still waiting in line in Super Tuesday states are more likely to vote for Bernie on the momentum. It's never too late, and you're just a doomer if you really think Bernie has no chance.
