Remembered reading something about genetically targeted bioweapons once. Found this from https://sites.dartmouth.edu/dujs/2013/03/10/genetically-engineered-bioweapons-a-new-breed-of-weapons-for-modern-warfare/

Would it really be so hard for the Russians to collect his DNA if they wanted to? This looks more like some infantile power play than a legitimate security concern.

I guess that makes sense if you look at it from the perspective of them wanting an invisible way to off people that is harder to detect than the radiation poisoning or whatever.

they could reverse-engineer how to make uruk-hai, and then amerikkka would have to tell europe to tell russia they can't just go and decide where their uruk-hai are standing around within the borders of their own country :macron:

always loved listening to the pearl clutching about killing monarchs in history class. i kept asking 'so why isnt killing them justified tho'

robespierre is very based, we all basically owe him for cementing the modern idea of republicanism (the king killing kind) into place. Honestly the terror didn't go far enough considering he got couped. His cult of the supreme being shit was an hilarious failure but a valiant attempt to break the power of the damn church, that's probably his biggest fuck up.

reminder that Hillary Clinton tasked US diplomats with obtaining the DNA of foreign officials

Washington is running a secret intelligence campaign targeted at the leadership of the United Nations, including the secretary general, Ban Ki-moon and the permanent security council representatives from China, Russia, France and the UK.

A classified directive which appears to blur the line between diplomacy and spying was issued to US diplomats under Hillary Clinton's name in July 2009, demanding forensic technical details about the communications systems used by top UN officials, including passwords and personal encryption keys used in private and commercial networks for official communications.

It called for detailed biometric information "on key UN officials, to include undersecretaries, heads of specialised agencies and their chief advisers, top SYG [secretary general] aides, heads of peace operations and political field missions, including force commanders" as well as intelligence on Ban's "management and decision-making style and his influence on the secretariat". A parallel intelligence directive sent to diplomats in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi said biometric data included DNA, fingerprints and iris scans.

Woah now, if we call it "spying" when it's done to foreign officials, what do you call it when it's done to Americans?
