Dems successfully completed their main mission; take over left-wing movements (or at least groups with potential), take them over and turn them into "voteblue" movements, then destroy them. Sure, this isn't purely the doing of the DNC (some leaders of the BLM movement were killed by cops, some sold out, some walked away), but as soon as Trump became president - especially when he started to attack Kaepernick, this started to happen. Then on 2020 election day, Dems immediately started blaming the BLM/defund movement, even after they successfully turned it into a "vote blue no matter who" movement.

In 2050, we can expect tweets like "The NYPD wishes everyone a happy BLM Day"

The national BLM org is a rag and shitty so this is 100% unsurprising. All real and impactful organizing is and has been at local levels. But even with all that, a chunk of the smaller local BLM groups have too much faith in the national org and listen to them too much or direct donations they could use to the hundred million dollar national group. It's fucked up

They're basically a lib PR group that misleads people about what BLM is. The damage is the same as lib misinformation in general: difficulties reaching people with the message of radicalization, people going down a lib pipeline rather than socialist pipeline, having to explain why you're not responsible for the things done by the lib recuperation effort.

One thing for sure they do is get funneled a lot of money from regular people who want to donate and help out BLM and these donations of course hardly trickle down especially for mutual aid like keeping black moms housed and kids fed. If there was no national org I think it's safe to say every city with a BLM would be able to do so much more with they money that should be going to them.

The national org can beef with, undermine, confuse, and ultimately excommunicate local movements.

Its not a big deal for existing members, but this kind of co-opting undermines efforts to grow, develop, and communicate between local chapters.

Look up the history of the LaRouche Democrats. Its basically that, but for every progressive movement now.

We should publish a live compendium on recuperation with this as the featured article 30% of the time.

Imagine if you could just point people to one well-known place rather than having to fully rehash why letting a lib reformist take the microphone is straight-up counterproductive.

A wiki is all the tech you really need and that's pretty easy. The hard part, aside from content, is making sure only cool people edit it. e.g., this site is only good because our mods and admins keep out the reactionaries.

    Old: BLM

Soon: HLM (Her Life Matters) (Hillary's Life Matters)

    Edit: I stand corrected.

Dems immediately started blaming the BLM/defund movement, even after they successfully turned it into a “vote blue no matter who” movement.

And they will continue to. Controlling it gives them power over the narrative. They will remain the perfect little scapegoat while the Dems act confused why blacks aren’t voting for them in record numbers

The BLM movement is good. The “official” BLM org is just a shitty Democratic fundraising op to steal momentum and money from the real movement.

for sure there were some elements in there, but the message was primarily about police brutality and not about capitalism(or anything related really). They manage to convict about two cops a year now which i guess is good compared to the 90s and before. although cities frequently have to burn to get results.

put class politics in command and big money will find it very difficult, if not impossible, to de radicalize. BLM while it served its purpose, also had "leaders" calling to support the black bourgeoisie...
