The U.S. Senate on Tuesday passed legislation that would make daylight saving time permanent starting in 2023, ending the twice-annual changing of clocks in a move promoted by supporters advocating brighter afternoons and more economic activity.
this isn't good folks, permanent standard time is good, this is permanent DST
this means months of driving and dropping off kids in pitch black environments in the morning which is bad for sleep and going to kill peeps
America already did this in the seventies and they hated it, p much every country that has tried permanent DST swapped off of it due to negative feedback
p much every sleep scientist on the planet thinks this is a bad idea
the reason this is being pushed by Rubio is bc later sunlight hours is good for Florida business and tourism, but fucks over the people actually living and working in the state (they're the ones getting up earlier and in the darkness), since it doesn't actually give more sunlight it just pushes it back
Ngl I’m so glad it’s permanent daylight time. This is the one thing I’ve ever agreed with Rubio on. I’m either going to work in the dark or coming home in the dark, I’d rather it be the first one so I can at least enjoy the sunlight for a bit. If it’s dark out when I leave work I want to kill myself.
