“ That’s why the democrats are so screwed. cause they are stuck in a corner now where all they can do is use data to prove its not that bad relative to historic trends, but that has nothing to do with the subjective experience of what living in America fees like for most people. ” -Matt Christman, Chapo ep 619

It's always so infuriating to see this shit because they have to know that there is an implicit "To make things better" in the question

None of this is apparent or even helpful to the common person, but they sure act like it is

You're telling me that an executive order mandating more workplace diversity in the federal govt isn't responsible for fixing the race issue in the government? What about making Juneteenth a federal holiday? Or "Ending support for Saudi Operations in Yemen" (but still selling them guns to kill innocent people), that helps common people and makes us the good guys, right?

I remember asking someone in r/politics what he had actually done and they seemingly went to whitehouse.gov and copy and pasted the achievements section. "And the majority of the voter base that isn't terminally online is going to know or care about this how?"

These types of posts aren't for the majority of the voter base, they're for well-off liberals unaffected by changes in government policy to reassure themselves that their vote actually mattered. The contents of the the block of text are irrelevant - the block of text existing is enough to give liberals moral superiority over anyone who dares criticize the administration or the electoral system that birthed it.

They really love to walk the fine line between "the president isn't a dictator, so he can't unilaterally do [good thing] you stupid tankie!!" and "look at all these things Biden did totally by himself!"

My dude's out here getting praised for writing his name on a piece of paper. Anyone who's the slightest bit literate can do that! Why is not actively standing in the way of (somewhat) popularly derived legislation an accomplishment?

$21 for environmental remediation, incl. superfund cleanup and capping orphan wells

Maybe it's a typo, but maybe it isn't

don't worry about it sport i got a buddy jim who's got a truck, said he'd cap those wells for a pack of smokes. still waiting to get that phone call back from him but i think his phone might be busted cuz i haven't heard from him in a bit. but he's a great guy real solid, used to drive me to the old paper factory when it was still runnin and let me sneak a beer out of the fridge them boys kept.

Looked it up, some ICE pig got iced by a cartel in a town in Mexico 11 years ago. The suspects got arrested and the case was overturned sometime last year because it turns out you can't try people for crimes committed in another country and no one was able to discover that fact for a decade. So it looks like they passed this incredible law because someone might possibly not go to jail forever for killing some hotdog necked ICE agent in a different goddamn country

If you spit on an American pig in, say, Vietnam then the next time you set foot in the states you immediately get whisked off to a CPD blacksite, probably

So, like, steer wide of Australia, the Philippines, and Bad Korea.

When gas costs $5 a gallon and a fucking chuck roast goes for $10.99 lb I'm sure the average motherfucker is going to read this list and decide, you know what, I think I will go vote for the dems.

There won't be a strict shortage of Dem voters in 2022. Dems will still get the baseline 40-50M Vote Blue No Matter Who contingent and command 40+ Senate votes and north of 170 House seats.

They'll lose on the margins, blame everyone but themselves for defeat, and immediately get back to compromising away anything the GOP hasn't fleeced since the last time they held a majority.

Then, once Republicans have shit the bed again, they'll return to the majority in triumph in 2026 or so.
