Dude makes up Republican cocaine sex orgies only to accidentally be correct about them, and get shat on by the full force of the Republican establishment in retaliation. Now he can't even name the names, because he wasn't cool enough to get an invite.

This is one of those rare political upsets where the man with more swag didn't win. :thinky-felix:

Pretty cool how we all just watched the sicko republicans destroy this guy with blackmail and info that should be private, and everyone is laughing an cheering it on. It’s gonna happen to the left too, any individual or organization that gets too big for its britches is gonna get their internet history leaked, their exes brought out for a slanderfest, every sext or kink put on display in the cold light of day.

We need to become immune and desensitized to this type of slander on any activists, socialist party members, labor organizers, left polemics, etc. or it will be weaponized against us if we ever do become threat

Definitely proof the Democrats could easily destroy an individual dissident like Manchin if they wanted to

Joe Manchin doesn't have a live-in cousin that films him doing frat boy hijinks, though. Just the nepotism and self dealing that everybody does in Government.

No we actually should not sacrifice our principles in order to protect potential abusers. Obviously we should be skeptical of attacks on leftists and activists but what you are implying is how abusers get protected.

Internally in organizations there should absolutely be processes for investigating and disciplining abusive behavior. That’s different than public perception of public figures, and PR campaigns against them

And when the policies for disciplining abusers are weak, and the only recourse victims have is outside of that? In a perfect world handling these issues internally as long as they are legitimate sounds great, but in reality if abusers hold positions high up in an organization then that organization's process for rooting them out is never going to be airtight.

That isn't what I read into this though. This just reads like circling the wagons at any cost. You could have just said that to begin with instead of saying basically ignore all allegations against supposed leftists.

We, as in the general leftist public, need to become desensitized to scandalous and slanderous accusations of this nature.

If there’s a serious accusation of sexual abuse then that should be investigated by the appropriate parties, but that is not the jeering of the vicious crowd that ripped apart Cawthorn. He didn’t abuse anyone to my knowledge right? I’m not fully caught up on what he even did, has an embarrassing video of him humping his cousin and some other cringe things?

We, as in the general leftist public

That's not what you said though and even if I read it as "we here on hexbear" or "we leftists" it doesn't read any differently.

Cawthorn is a fascist. He deserves to be clowned on.

True, but he wasn't clowned on for being a fascist, the "controversy" didn't touch on his politics at all, it was because he was acting "gay" and "crossdressing", even the libs got into it and it was pretty gross

True, we need to condemn the republicans and demand that they act with civility :liberalism:

This is nothing new, just that it is funny when they do it to themselves.

Still can't believe everything that came out was real. The only way you could make this story more on the nose if you wrote it is making him the representative of Alabama or something.
