At this point with their voting history, the "progressives" have the same foreign policy as a run of the mill warmonger politician

"Progressivism for me, imperialism for thee."
Just another example of how, from the perspective of the global south, America cannot be reformed and must be dismantled.
American really do be siding with Germany, Italy and Japan against China and Russia and see no problem with it
interference and subversion is when you don't damage your own economy by obeying sanctions levied by a nation currently engaged in a trade war and ongoing military escalation with you
On the one hand, we're threatening to nuke China for basically no articulable reason.
On the other hand, how dare China not cooperate with our unilateral acts of war?!
I don't really know which member of the house has even remotely good foreign policy, other than the freak isolationists, who have it for the worst possible reasons. And the isolationist libertarians never seem to actually do anything, so I don't even count it for all that much.
Are they really trying to conflate China with the Axis Powers of WWII, just like how GWB did with the Axis of Evil Iran, Iraq, North Korea)? Pathetic.
They're desperate for another world war, but have don't seem to fucking know anything about the historical context of it besides normal American education propaganda
WW2 is the only major international war Americans know about.
My guess is the lobbyists provide the text and the staffers and elected officials get to put their best effort into the name
This is so fucking embarrassing for a whole litany of reasons.
Meanwhile, in the west, our economy is going down the shitter :soviet-hmm:
Only 3 Nay Votes, all Republicans
Gohmert
Greene (MTG)
Massie
:doomjak:
I'm still sceptical that MTG can even read at this point. I assume that she saw the word "xi" in the title and the democrats were in favour of it, so she just extrapolated that this was the "hand over America to China act" and voted against it.
Thomas Massie also continues being the only ideologically consistent member of congress, even if he does it for the dumbest reasons you can imagine.
From what I gather he is a libertarian who lives in cabin in the middle of nowhere Kentucky. He is massively against any form of government interference in the lives of citizens, which makes him a massive chud, but he is also oftentimes the only person in Congress who votes against the "give billions to Israel/Ukraine/Taiwan/other countries for dubious and imperialist reasons". I haven't read all that much by him, but from what I remember in his voting record, he seems pretty committed to his beliefs, and genuinely believes in isolationism. I don't for a second think he has a good reason for it, since he got elected as a republican in Kentucky, and people on this site have speculated previously that his opposition to Israel might be less about the isolationism and more about a general distrust of "cosmopolitans" or whatever libertarians use to refer to jews. He also explicitly called out AIPAC on his twitter when they were going after him for voting against the Iron Dome missile defence system that America was apparently just gonna give to the Israelis.
MTG has been quite outspoken about opposing funds to Ukraine. I think this is related to that
But isn't that almost entirely because she is too dumb to realize that partisanly opposing everything the Dems do doesn't apply to foreign policy?
I think it’s because she thinks Ukraine is run by Hunter Biden and Trump was impeached when he attempted to cut off funds to Azov
inb4 that fed Haz claims that this is yet more proof that the republicans are actually an anti-imperialist worker's party
It’s not proof that the GOP are anti-imperialist but it certainly is proof that the squad and DNC progressives are imperialists
Can someone explain why? I don't really know much about those three (is MTG the unhinged Q Anon etc one?)
