The Republican Party is a fascist threat to democracy and the future of this country and the world, which is why we must get married to them

You know, I've talked about the sexual pathology in the liberal fantasy of redeeming a conservative, but you illustrated it beautifully.

New most hilarious election outcome: Biden/Haley both lose to Trump

Haley is objectively at least as bad if not worse than Trump.

I don't know how much it "matters" but it is hilarious seeing all the media basically crying over orange man when a woman version of George W Bush or John Bolton is their proposed alternative.

If you tell me to choose between the guy who sat by and allowed/fueled genocide, an avowed neoconservative, pro-war (Haley) or the guy who at least sometimes pretends to be anti war... I mean am I supposed to care about winning here? Because it kinda seems like the orange man isn't the worst outcome...

(And no this isn't a "Trump endorsement" before comes yelling. I don't think I'll be voting for President at all this year. Just state/local/ballot measure shit)

I remember like 20 years ago when Maher would trash talk George Bush and I thought it was a breath of fresh air. I was a naive lib shit back then.

Now I know Bill Maher suck and that he's always sucked. He just found out how to suck even more. Somehow.

I bought his book during that time. What a disappointment he turned out to be.

I keep thinking of that Bill Hicks bit about how new presidents are shown a film of the JFK assassination from an angle never seen before, then asked 'any questions '? It's like these people get warped by power, and that allows this evil to continue

Reminds me of my local Democrats, when I was trying to be involved politically, listening to them talk about courting Republicans. Then listening to them talk about how awesome their MLK celebration was great that they did something to do with basketball. Yada yada. Just surface level, tone deaf and willing to bend over backwards for their opponents demands.

They also hemmed and hawwed (I think that's the term right?) over spending money on pride celebrations, meanwhile wanted to write a blank check to do an in person meeting at a Marriott or whatever not truly taking into consideration peoples concerns over COVID.

Last I checked the people in power were real estate moguls and put their pals in appointed positions. They were trying to oust the progressive faction of the party, because y'know they were doing pesky things like launching an investigation through the grievance committee to stop the sketchy bs. Eventually they placed someone loyal to them on the head of the grievance committee by getting people loyal to them to vote for that candidate and by weaponizing idpol. I'm white so calling them, I believe it's called Aunt Sally, is in very poor taste, but considering she was there to cover her white master (essentially, sorry to say it as such) feels as though it's fitting and very very unfortunate.

Edit: ew found out that the female version of Uncle Tom is not Sally but Jemima, and I will not be adding that to my lexicon...

Secular Talk is still making videos? I remember him being my introduction into the detailed world of US politics 10 years ago, when he made that video about the American Sniper movie and didn't even have a proper studio yet. Before that, all I knew as a kid was that Bush Jr was bad, the Iraq war was horrific, and Ronald Reagan was in charge of "white heaven".(Thanks to cool music and TV shows). I stopped watching after 2016 because I realised that getting into US politics, in that level of detail as someone not from the US, was a mistake.

Haley would be smart to try and be Trump's VP, since she could be the "moderate, who realized that MAGA was the only true answer" type candidate and would bring in some weirdos, unlike most VP picks that don't do anything.

Being Biden's VP pick would be sketchy for her, since just as an individual, she is way too opposed to abortion to ever be a "normal" Dem in 2028. The only way for that to happen would be if Republicans cooled off on opposing abortion, making liberals less pro-abortion as a response.
