I sometimes imagine my little subcompact getting turned into a stain on the road by an F-150 and the driver's defence is "you shouldn't have been driving such an unsafe car." These are the people telling us we spend too much on avocado toast.
When I was five, a guy in a Ford Ranger almost backed up over me in a grocery store parking lot.
extraneous background information
Guy backed up and nailed me with the bumper, knocked me to the ground and started to keep going
My dad basically had to bash in his rear windshield before he stopped
Then he tried to fight my dad in the parking lot, he lost when my dad gave him a right cross across the face with the brass knuckles his biker gang buddies gave him to celebrate the momentous occasion of my birth
Anyways, this was the early 90's and the trucks have only gotten bigger since then
It's so funny when moving and occasional big purchases are used as a justification. It's literally cheaper to get a small car and rent a uhaul on occasion.
I can already tell what the article is about
i use it to carry the occasional purchase I make of large objects
i like driving it, it makes me feel like a big man
it's safer than an ordinary car
Standard I'm an insecure baby shit

Shit's fucking dangerous
Based dad
all dads out there wishing for the opportunity to right cross some goon
:grillman:
Hardware stores have F250 flatbeds that you can rent for like $20 and can carry way bigger stuff for than your pickup.
Yeah but I don't want to pay $20 for that!
I'd rather put 20k down and make $500 payments for 72 months so I can own a truck I will need a grand total of 5 times over it's lifespan
not the ones around me; they must assume everyone in this shithole red county already owns one.
