I can already tell what the article is about
i use it to carry the occasional purchase I make of large objects
i like driving it, it makes me feel like a big man
it's safer than an ordinary car
Standard I'm an insecure baby shit
it's safer than an ordinary car
I sometimes imagine my little subcompact getting turned into a stain on the road by an F-150 and the driver's defence is "you shouldn't have been driving such an unsafe car." These are the people telling us we spend too much on avocado toast.
When I was five, a guy in a Ford Ranger almost backed up over me in a grocery store parking lot.
extraneous background information
Guy backed up and nailed me with the bumper, knocked me to the ground and started to keep going
My dad basically had to bash in his rear windshield before he stopped
Then he tried to fight my dad in the parking lot, he lost when my dad gave him a right cross across the face with the brass knuckles his biker gang buddies gave him to celebrate the momentous occasion of my birth
Anyways, this was the early 90's and the trucks have only gotten bigger since then
Shit's fucking dangerous
all dads out there wishing for the opportunity to right cross some goon
my dad gave him a right cross across the face with the brass knuckles his biker gang buddies gave him to celebrate the momentous occasion of my birth
:grillman:

Hardware stores have F250 flatbeds that you can rent for like $20 and can carry way bigger stuff for than your pickup.
Yeah but I don't want to pay $20 for that!
I'd rather put 20k down and make $500 payments for 72 months so I can own a truck I will need a grand total of 5 times over it's lifespan
not the ones around me; they must assume everyone in this shithole red county already owns one.
It's so funny when moving and occasional big purchases are used as a justification. It's literally cheaper to get a small car and rent a uhaul on occasion.
If you have a pickup truck that reduced the bed size in order to accommodate a bigger cabin. No, you do not need a pickup truck.
As someone who does actually need a truck for work, the wee one I have is so much more practical than big stupid modern trucks. It's impossible to find one in this size anymore. The bed is at knee level instead of chest level so I can actually get heavy things in it, and it gets gas mileage only slightly worse than my mother's sedan.
The modern trucks only get bigger and stupider and harder to load. Sad.
I just know it's a lot easier to unload furniture from mine than my coworkers'. Just a short knee bend and I can get underneath it.
Or when I'm hauling something very heavy like a wood stove or a riding lawn mower, the ramp is much shorter than it would need to be if I had a full size truck.
I'm sorry you had to go through that, and I wish ill upon your bosses as well :knifecat:
Now we can make them bigger than you ever imagined possible, with an elevator for the driver's seat and an elevator for the cargo :jeb:
general vibe is the pickup truck is what Real Working Class Americans drive, which can be basically disproven by looking at the demographics of truck sales
Very ironic to see well off chuds calling themselves "Real working class"
Pickup Trucks are Caddies for dudes who want to virtue signal to duck-dynasty conservatives.
the demographics of truck sales
That website is blocked for Europeans, probably because they need to shove a shit-ton of trackers into your browser and can't be assed to ask for permission.
"Working class" is a cultural affectation, not related to class at all.
Death to america, of course
It was a classic. But have you considered the Suzuki Carry?
Says something about how secure he is about it that he even felt the need to write this lol.
The pickup truck in the picture doesn't have an 8' bed, so is basically useless as a pickup truck. It's just an El Camino SUV.
I will say that Ford is starting to go in heavy on electric pickup trucks, though. The F-150 Lightning sounds good except for only coming in crew cab. It's got good towing capacity, though.
The 2022 F-150 Lightning Pro with the smaller standard-range 98 kWh battery pack has a base curb weight of 6,171 lbs and a GVWR of 8,250 lbs. It also puts the base Lightning payload at just over the promised 2,000 lbs.
Progress is when the largest electric truck with load has a good chance of absolutely fucking obliterating en ampty ICE F150 due to sheer accelerated mass
Introducing a Suzuki Carry on snow tracks
also, given that the above doesn't really show how small it is, here's a goofy ass one with a house and another car for perspective
no need, but I live in the mountains and would love a truck or suv for exploring dirt roads without bottoming out on rocks constantly
like half of the people I know drive lifted trucks and have to get a step ladder to even put stuff in the bed (which is tiny because of the huge cabin)
what is even the point
