I have always been fascinated by how a persons proximity to real power changes them in ways that become mandatory if you do any digging on them.
How much real power does Musk have? He has a huge amount of raw capital, but how much of that is contingent upon mysterious investors, or weird credit schemes, subsidies, or purposefully inflated valuations of his companies? Everyone in Washington talks about him like he's some weird loser. The industries he runs aren't any kind of vital business for the American workforce. Hardly any car owners primarily drive a tesla.
