It seems like the ultimate goal for everyone is to become a superhero so they never have to worry about money again

Also every doctor with how much steriods they're feeding the MCU actors, especially the guys.

The shape of Chris Hemsworth's jaw has literally changed due to all the obvious steroid use for the Thor movies. Like he literally grew a different jawline.

The actor that played Kingo in the MCU Eternals movie, Kumail Nanjiani, got huge for his role in the film. Even though it wasn't required, he did it in a short time, and likely used substances to help bulk up.

They also had him do a bollywood style dance in the film, even though he is Pakistani.

I see. I didn't watch that one, I haven't seen any marvel films since endgame except for spider man ones. That's definitely bad that he did that and they made him do that dance.

You're not missing anything by not watching it. CTH did an episode on it if you want a recap.

I see where you're coming from, but it literally fries your organs. Way to die of a heart attack at 40. People say they understand the risks but they really don't. Same with that leg lengthening surgery. This isn't even getting into SARMS, literal research chemicals which no one knows the full effects of yet.

Yes some cis men do a form of HRT, in the form of TRT (testosterone replacement therapy) and a lot of gym bros trick their doctors into getting on TRT by not sleeping for a few nights, eating like shit for a few days and crashing their test levels. But it fucks up your natural testosterone production and you basically become dependent on it (your body stops producing as much testosterone naturally), and the off cycle crash if you're taking it like that is crazy. Not to mention the sexual effects on libido, potential ED and shrinkage down there.

Unless you have a legitimate medical reason to be on TRT as a cis man you should not be on it. The risks far outweigh any potential benefits.

Working on something like G.I. Joe was horrendous. I just wanted to cut my throat every day. And Thor? Just a gun in your mouth. Gone in 60 Seconds was a good experience. Nic Cage is a gentleman and fantastic actor. But G.I. Joe and Thor were ... I really paid for being a whore those times.

They are going to cast every available movie star in their movies

I think that whenever an actor gets too popular their MCU character gets another gig so that the hype is channeled into a disney IP instead of their own star power.

I've read about 'indie' projects only getting funding if they get an a-list star. Only for production to be put on hold indefinitely whenver the star is on marvel duty.

It's only going to get worse - there is still all of the X-Men and associated X spinoffs to be plundered which covers about 3000+ characters. Then there is the Fantastic Four roster and villains - so more Cosmic Marvel and Doom-related shenanigans. Oh, and don't forget Nova / Annihilus / Quasar and all of that.

At least 27 more, with every 5th movie being a time-travel retcon of the previous 4 movies

Same reason there was a morbius movie. Same reason there's a kraven the hunter movie coming.

At this point, with superheroes continuing to remain the lifeblood of the box office, there's a big problem for a lot of studios: all the IPs are basically held by Disney and Warner Bros at this point.

Spider-man and his spinoff characters, under Sony, are all that remains. They cut a deal to share spiderman for the MCU....so now the best they can manage is a bunch of D-list villains given field promotions to lead character of a tentpole franchise.

It's such a dumb strategy when they could just make the types of comic book movies Marvel and DC doesn't and have them be hard R action movies rather than just a camera whipping around CGI characters while they say shit like "So that just happened".

100%...but that's capitalism for you. The shared universe superhero proliferation is basically like all the world of warcraft clones of the past 20 years or various Facebook knockoff failures. You need to either do the same thing by an order of magnitude better...or you need a different hook.

I actually thought when the whole 'dark universe' thing was announced it presented a unique opportunity because the idea of a series of dark r rated horror films based on classic monsters in a shared universe was certainly a new idea...

And instead they just made them all goddamn PG-13 superheroes.

A shared universe cinematic brand of hard R movies is something you're probably not gonna get from Disney anytime soon...and Deadpool and Logan both proved the concept has an audience....yet nobody wants to take a bite???

ngl I fucking love that Sony is having to do this. It's resulting in films that have no business being made lol

Oh 1000%! Everybody has made morbius a meme already but I genuinely think it's been under discussed just how much dumb shit had to happen for that movie to be a thing.

The character of morbius himself literally owes his existence to the creation of the comics code authority and the fact that depictions of the undead were banned.

The perfect storm of Jared Leto getting recast as the joker combined with the sheer desperation of Sony to find a new tentpole leading them to dig up a d list character who hasn't been relevant and nobody has talked about since the 90s Spiderman tv series could only have happened in a time line as insane as ours.

lets them do live-action spiderverse stuff and they already had an animated film with "spiderverse" in the title
