spoiler: his take gets worse
this is kinda like the all soldiers are bastards struggle sesh we used to have
private sector companies won't even look at you
Dumbass you submitted a resume that consisted of "They made me a killing machine" misspelled and in crayon.
Also this is demonstrably untrue, lots of companies like hiring vets.
he might have applied a few places and got blanked but that's just what applying for jobs is like
Our mighty troops must be made car dealership owners immediately after bootcamp!
And sell the overpriced Camaros and mustangs to the new recruits, so the cycle can continue
Lol like he's applying on easy mode which means that instead of hearing silence for 100 applications and then getting an interview, you hear nothing from your first 10 and then get the job from a "vet-friendly" company. I guess it's difficult to see that if you only apply to 3-5 places though lol
Every manager I've worked for thinks being in the military means you're the best employee ever, lol.
Criticizing people for working for the MIC: privileged
Having a good job lined up at 23 and no debt because you hung around military bases for two years to serve the empire: bootstraps
Once I was offered a job out of college at a defense contractor. I did not take it because guess what I'm not a ghoul. Even then when I was 99% lib I was like nah don't wanna make weapons seems gross.
Why work for a defense contractor when you can be just as evil and get paid more working in finance or tech?
I'll have you know I turned down big money at the defense contractor. They offered me $.76 more than the job I took instead.
If we are dragging people for working for Lockheed, go ahead and hook me up to the truck
:xibe-check:
this is kinda like the all soldiers are bastards struggle sesh we used to have
Struggle sesh? All (imperialist) soldiers absolutely are bastards tho... :confusion:
someone called me transphobic because i said getting gender affirming care isn't a good enough reason to join the army
:what-the-hell: weaponizing accusations of transphobia to defend and justify murdering brown children
the wall is too good for whoever played that bullshit.
Lift the ban on trans people in the US military
:trans-sad:
Apply a ban on people in the US military across the board without discrimination
:party-sicko:
Some people really bended backwards to rationaloze both yelling acab (good) and doing "mnyeeeh it's actually a very nuanced and complicated class issue and you can't individualize the hate and blame for the empire to it's foreign cops/enforcers (that are worse by any measure ) " despite cops and troops having near identical demographics both race and class wise
Unless you work there specifically to conduct internal sabotage you are complicit with every dead brown kid.
it's privileged that you have a choice of becoming a cog in the imperialist killing machine and not one of its victims. That carrot of becoming a mindless comfortable consumer drone is so tempting, just have to keep the image of crying brown children because their entire village and family were vaporized by a US missile, out of your mind.
New incredibly annoying asinine take we're never gonna hear the end of just dropped
As I saw someone say elsewhere, the laziest, lamest jokes of 2015 rose emoji dweebs are becoming reality, and it's even dumber than we thought possible.
Self criticism non-existent. Also why not focus on the systemic issues that lead to you only being able to get a good paying job with the military industrial complex instead of trying to justify it? Nothing wrong with collecting a pension but also understanding and fighting for an end to the system that makes murder inc. The only place you can get one.
One of the crazy parts about this is implying it's impossible for vets to get hired outside of military contractors. Sorry, but I live in Canada where we have a lot less veneration for the troops, and still every manager I've had has this idea that sleeping in a bunk bed and getting woken up to go for a jog gives you unlimited work ethic. We have far fewer vets, and I've yet to work anywhere where the dumbest guy in the office wasn't the first remotely qualified vet that sent in a resume.
