Remember how the Italian Futurists provided a ton of art and poetry for the nascent Fascist movement while the jackbooted thugs were out burning and killing and beating people, and the Futurist movement and the jackbooted thug movement, nominally on the same side, were from such totally different worlds that they basically didn't know of each others existence? And the futurists just went on making weird fascist art until all of them died in the war?

Either way I was gonna read this and got about a page in and realized there were like ten more pages and I assure you; I do not care enough about weird fascist art students in NYC to finish this article.

The Futurists were at least somewhat interesting, but this crop of fascists has nothing to offer culturally. Filming people calling each other slurs, give me a break.

Reading through this I keep thinking this is like some sort of satire, like this is a satirical scenario in a fictional story.

What is actually going on, he's a movie/cultural critic who is invited to be filmed for this movie answering a question like its a documentary style format, but then theres also this sci fi thing going on? Theres an audience watching the movie being filmed? Its somehow both a film shoot and a public struggle session against a guy who wrote insulting reviews of the previous films at the same time? He talks about a crowd but a crowd of what, what the fuck is any of this, is there a crowd of like filming staff and extras and shit or are there just random people and friends sitting around to watch a bad film being made?

Again, it just reads like its a bizarre script for some extremely meta film about local art scenes, this is all one single event he's writing about?

This is more foreign to me than literally anything I have read about any other culture or country, genuinely alien experience trying to understand a single part of this whole clusterfuck. Like this random art scene has made their own planet out of the gravitational pull of their egos.

The only good thing i can say about Musk and Bezos is that if i had an "instantly vaporize exactly one billionaire" button, i'd use it for Thiel immediately.

Read the full article and the whole post 'left' NYC trust fund art scene sounds like a bad acid trip. Hipster Jonestown or some shit.

I know that the Chapos have repeatedly avoided mentioning their own friends as being part of this shit when making fun of articles covering it, but eventually they won't be able to avoid that, right?

Honestly I would bet not, I'm pretty sure after Virgil left and COVID happened they split, and now only Will is living in New York. Maybe Chris too. Pretty sure Matt is in LA, and I have no idea where Felix is these days.

I genuinely cannot fathom why anyone would move from NY to LA, LA is the most hellish city I’ve ever had the misfortune of being in except for maybe Orlando.

“Let’s have all the shitty parts of a city, like traffic, high prices, bad smells, and homelessness so bad that incomprehensible levels of human suffering are visible on every sidewalk, but without the benefit of actually having cool things near each other and easily accessible. I love sitting in 3 hours of traffic just to drive a few miles away in the same city!”

New York sucks in many ways but at least it had the subway and is dense enough to walk places. LA is an irredeemable hellscape that should be razed to the ground.

“ The fucking place should be wiped off the face of the Earth. To be anything to do with rock and roll and to go and live in Los Angeles is I think just heading for disaster. It really is. Even Brian Eno, who's so adaptable and quite as versatile as I now am living in strange and foreign environments, he couldn't last there more than six weeks. He had to get out. But he was very clever: he got out much earlier than I did.”

At least when Red Scare was about DSA drama it was interesting, this shit is just boring. Like, imagine being in your 30's, having been on a real ass TV show, and then having to say 'based' and 'cringe' in some sort of wannabe Tarantino style piece that doesn't even have the decency to kill off most of the characters at the end. God the post-left New York art scene is boring.

Edit: I read through the article and it's literally just Studio 51 rage critic sessions with less drugs. This is banal even by New York art cult standards. Every single camera should be sold and the studio should be given to the homeless, at least whatever they do will be inherently more 'artistic' than whatever this whole thing was.

Second Edit: Where is GG Allin when you need him?

    her trademark slur

People often ask me, "But you're just playing video games right? What makes you a pro gamer?"

Look they didn't even say the gamer word, that was how mild this was for being 'un-PC'.

A real gamer plays more than one class and uses more than one slur. Depending on my guild's needs, I can either hop on my rogue and be homophobic or my druid and attack different kinds of Asian people. Pure situational awareness, well-honed reflexes, a black hole of insecurity that lets me slur until my nose bleeds no matter what kind of accent the enemy has.

Feels like any reasonable person would quit after an experience like this, what the fuck more could be gained by covering anything related to whatever this shit is.

Some of my favourite musical artists have quit performing for jobs like becoming a lawyer or a pig farmer, this guy should do so too ASAP.
