I don know how long he's been there or if what I'm about to talk about was him but I remember when Discovery made its hard turn to the right years ago

They started small with Iceroad Truckers on History Channel and such but then it got worse, Animal Planet stopped playing nature shows or pet shows to instead run shows with names like "When Animals Attack" to play on fear of nature

Worst of all was this environmental chanel they had, I think it was called Green something and I used to like it, well first they replaced most of the daytime programming with a reality show about loggers and how clear cutting the forest was good for the environment acktually then it finally got rebranded into some weird chud chanel, I think it was called US or Patriot or some shit like that

My best bet was that they're being drained by some consulting firm, but this also makes sense.

no, you're right. this does suck, but it i guess explains cutting all those kids shows. anything that might teach children about "love" or "acceptance" must be purged

"To him that hath, more shall be given; and from him that hath not, the little that he hath shall be taken away. The rich have become richer, and the poor have become poorer; and the vessel of the State is driven between the Scylla and Charybdis of anarchy and despotism."

Percy Bysshe Shelley, husband of Mary Shelley (writer of Frankestein), also the writer of the Ozymandias poem. It's definitely a reference to the Parable of Talents in Matthew though.

My guess is Discovery will probably have to sell WB when they fail at doing this like 5 years down the line

They merged their failing streaming service (Discovery+) with their really successful one (HBO max) and are branding under Discovery. Zero chance the "middle america" play was done based on any serious analysis, so yeah, probably going to flop. They seem extremely inept, lol.

At this point, the only thing worth watching on Discovery is that one Bri'ish dude who goes around buying like 60 year old tractor seats and various junk.

Everything else is just "I'm MINING gold for AMERICA AND Je*us PRAY on it!"

I always liked American pickers. There can be some cool stuff they find, even if it's about reselling it, it's still cool to see the shit they buy.

Same, the Bri'ish show I'm thinking of is "Salvage Hunters"

        I love old shit

These are called "middlemen" and they are unnecessary. Their entire class is slated for liquidation after the revolution.

I will also shill for Battlebots at every opportunity. Greatest sport ever - there's a Chinese show about it too but that's hard to find in English.

Discovery doesn't actually produce BattleBots, it's made independently and Discovery is the North American distributor. It might be on a different channel in your region, or piracy might be your only option to watch it.

there's "king of bots" and "this is fighting robots" out of china, as well as old and recent robot wars, and comedy central and abc/discovery battlebots.

kob is kinda what we're used to, TIFR is some chinese-ass chinese celebrity show and you might want to watch a "just the fights" playlist on youtube instead.

        :geordi-no: battlebots tv show

        :geordi-yes: NHRL streams

the tv show needs new management and less reality tv styling

Yeah it's annoying. If they cut out or at least cut down on the filler they would actually have time to show every single match instead of skipping some of them. But the actual matches in BB are the highest quality in the sport and there's nothing else on that level.

Yeah, I’m complaining about my treats being taken away. So fuckin’ what? I like entertainment and don’t do politics 24/7 just like literally every human on earth.

sorry my dude, but you can't wriggle out of this: this is cringe.
