right lol? what Trump is saying is 100% true and extends to virtually all the ruling class, not just military generals. People should be pointing out Trump has been continuously enabling this of course and increasing the military budget and increasing bombings and weapons purchases.

The military industrial complex is a great way to create white collar and manufacturing jobs in your district. It’s the only vehicle for industrial policy the US has.

Well it's a good thing we don't have any recent examples of an administration + top MIC brass pushing for a war and congress just going along with rubber stamping that war!

No, there's another good kind of Trump, where he dunks on other people who are equally evil and shitty as he is, with funny nicknames, like "Crooked Hillary" or "Li'l Adam Schitt"

People in that thread are treating the US MIC as if it were a monastic order of ascetic celibate monks who have renounced worldly pleasures and definitely don't go into military-related industries and lobby for lucrative careers and contracts on behalf of their new commercial masters.

One even called the military industrial complex a "cherished institution" lmao.

They really believe that because they know someone employed by the defense industry or are employed by it themselves.

The MIC played a big role in creating the postwar professional-managerial class and continues to sustain it.

Only Trump would be able to say this while expanding the Drone war and pushing us on the brink of war with Iran, escalating tensions with China, and trying to topple the Venezuelan government.

didn't he pretty much hand it [the Drone War] off to local decision-makers or something? Meaning yes it's escalating but he probably didn't even do it consciously, but just by trying to evade responsibility/work
